Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 25

The enemy has stepped up operations on key front lines, engaging in over 200 combat clashes within 24 hours. The Ukrainian armed forces are successfully repelling attacks and striking enemy positions, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
During the past day, May 24, there were 204 combat clashes recorded along the front. Russian forces carried out two missile strikes and 97 airstrikes, launched 8 missiles and 138 guided aerial bombs, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Enemy conducted:
5,461 shelling attacks, including 129 from multiple rocket launcher systems, and deployed approximately 2,600 kamikaze drones. Airstrikes were recorded in the Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
Response of the Ukrainian armed forces
Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck nine areas of enemy personnel and equipment concentration, destroyed five artillery systems, seven command posts, and two other important targets.
Situation on the fronts:
Kharkiv direction – the enemy attempted to breach defenses five times near Vovchansk, Stroivka, Kutkivka, and Vovchanski Khutory.
Kupiansk direction – 5 attacks were recorded near Petropavlivka, Zahryzove, and Nova Krugliakivka.
Lyman direction – 23 assaults aimed at breaking through the defense were carried out in the areas of Kopanky, Lypove, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodiazi, Torske, and Novomykhailivka, as well as in the directions of Karpivka, Hryhorivka, Hrekivka, and Olhivka.
Siversk direction – 3 attempted offensives near Bilohorivka, Vyiimka, and Pereizne.
Kramatorsk direction – 4 enemy attacks to the west of Andriivka and in the directions of Predtechyne and Bila Hora.
Toretsk direction – 16 assaults near Druzhba, Dyliivka, Krymske, Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, Petriivka, and in the directions of Pleshchiivka and Yablunivka.
Pokrovsk direction – the enemy carried out 65 assault operations in the areas of Zoria, Nova Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Udachne, Malynivka, Sukhyi Yar, Novoserhiivka, Muravka, Troitske, Datchenske, Kotlyne, Kotliarivka, Orikhove, Novoukrainka, Oleksiivka, and Andriivka.
Novopavlivka direction – 14 attacks were recorded near Kostiantynopil, Bahatyr, Odradne, Shevchenko, Vesele, Vilne Pole, Novosilka, Zelene Pole, and Novopil.
Orikhiv direction – 4 attempts to break through in the areas of Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, and toward Novoandriivka.
Huliaipole and Prydniprovskyi directions – no active offensive actions by the enemy were recorded.
Volyn and Polissia directions – no signs of enemy offensive group formations have been detected.
Kursk direction
The Defense Forces continue their operation in the Kursk direction. Over the past day, the enemy launched 12 airstrikes, dropped 16 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 246 shelling attacks, including 6 with multiple launch rocket systems. Ukrainian defenders repelled 39 enemy assault attempts.
Russian losses in the war
As a reminder, Russian occupying forces lost 1,020 personnel over the past day. Ukrainian troops also neutralized two tanks, 11 armored fighting vehicles, 68 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket system, 190 operational-tactical UAVs, six missiles, 112 vehicles, and seven units of special equipment.
