Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 14

As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time, on May 14, 128 combat engagements took place along the front line over the day. The highest number of Russian assaults was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian strikes
Over the past day, Russian forces launched one missile strike and 45 airstrikes on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas, using one missile and dropping 65 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 1,156 kamikaze drones and carried out nearly 4,000 attacks.
Frontline update
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have attempted to advance near the settlements of Stara Mykolaivka, Yelyzavetivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirrove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 46 assaults, with five combat engagements still ongoing.
“Today, in this direction, according to preliminary data, 324 Russian personnel were neutralized, including 159 irreversibly. A tank, four vehicles, four motorcycles, 12 UAVs, a UAV command post, five UAV antennas, and a Murom-M surveillance station were also destroyed. Additionally, a Russian tank was damaged,” the report says.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces launched three assaults near Vovchansk and Kamyanka.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted to advance toward Hlushkivka. Ukrainian defenders halted the attack.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 21 times near Nova Kruhliakivka, Lozova, Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Kolodiazi, Yampilivka, Ridkodub, and toward Hryhorivka. Two engagements are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks by Russian forces near Verkhnokamianske and Bilohorivka, with one engagement still underway.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces carried out eight attacks near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, Bila Hora, and Kurdiumivka. Fighting is still in progress.
Russian forces stormed Ukrainian positions 19 times in the Toretsk direction near Toretsk, Krymske, and Diliivka. All assaults were repelled.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces tried 20 times to break through Ukrainian defenses near Bahatyr, Novopil, Burlatske, and Vilne Pole. Five engagements remain active.
Today, in the Hulyaipole direction, Russian forces did not conduct offensive actions.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled three assaults near Stepove. Russian forces carried out airstrikes on Stepnohirsk and Kamianske.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped one attempt by Russian forces to approach Ukrainian positions.
In the Kursk direction, eight battles have occurred since the beginning of the day, one of which is still ongoing. Russian forces also launched six airstrikes using six guided bombs and carried out 188 artillery attacks.
Russian losses
As reported earlier, during the past 24 hours (May 13–14), Russian forces lost 1,240 troops in combat with Ukraine, along with numerous pieces of military equipment. The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 47 artillery systems, 82 drones, and 126 vehicles.
