Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 13

As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on May 13, a total of 125 combat engagements had taken place on the front lines since the beginning of the day. Many of the battles occurred in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Novopavlivka directions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
Today, Russia carried out 60 airstrikes, using 101 guided bombs. In addition, the invaders launched 1,052 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,580 shelling attacks on the positions of Ukrainian forces and populated areas.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted once to advance toward our defenders’ positions near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy tried to push forward twice - near Pishchane and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 Russian attacks today in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Novoserhiivka, Kolodiazi, Hryhorivka, and toward Ridkodub, Lypove, Zelena Dolyna, and Olhivka. Seven more attacks are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three enemy attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance toward Hryhorivka.
As of now, in the Kramatorsk direction, eight enemy attacks have taken place in the areas of Chasiv Yar and toward Bila Hora. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, our troops repelled six enemy attacks in the areas of Toretsk and toward Diliivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction today, the Russian army launched 42 attacks on our positions near the settlements of Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Novooleksiivka, Novooleksandrivka, Zaporizhzhia, Andriivka, and in the direction of Stara Mykolaivka, Muravka, Oleksiivka, Nova Poltavka, Yablunivka, Myroliubivka, Zoria, and Promin. While holding back the enemy's pressure, 40 attacks were repelled; two combat engagements are still ongoing. The Russian aircraft struck Poltavka and Rusyn Yar with guided bombs (KABs).
"According to preliminary estimates, today the Russian army lost 144 personnel killed and wounded in the Pokrovsk direction. Our forces destroyed a mortar, eight reconnaissance UAVs, eight vehicles, and three motorcycles. Ukrainian defenders also hit an enemy artillery gun, a mortar, and one armored combat vehicle," the report states.
In the Novopavlivka direction, our defenders repelled 20 enemy attacks near the areas of Kostyantynopil, Skudne, Rivnopil, Pryvilne, Vilne Pole, Shevchenko, Bahatyr, Novopil, Odradne, and toward Zelenyi Hai. Five combat engagements are still ongoing. The settlements of Novodarivka and Temyrivka were struck by guided aerial bombs.
In the Huliaipole direction, airstrikes targeted Vysoke, Malynivka, and Huliaipole.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders successfully repelled two enemy assaults near Novodanylivka and Mala Tokmachka. The enemy also launched an airstrike in the area of Kamianske.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian army made five unsuccessful attempts to advance toward Sadove.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue their operations in the Kursk direction, where they repelled eight enemy attacks today. The Russian army carried out 17 airstrikes, using 33 guided aerial bombs, and launched 241 artillery strikes, including ten from multiple launch rocket systems.
Russia's losses
Over the past day, from May 12 to 13, Russia lost another 1,070 soldiers in its war against Ukraine. Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 62 artillery systems, 100 drones, and 138 units of motor vehicles.
