On May 2, Ukrainian forces recorded 216 combat engagements along the front line, with the heaviest fighting taking place in four directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Heavy fighting on key fronts

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 83 Russian attacks near the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Novotoretske, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Dachenske, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udachne, Nadiivka, Kotliarivka, Preobrazhenka, and Andriivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 27 assaults, attempting to advance near the settlements of Nove, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodiazi, Myrne, Serhiivka, Hrekivka, and Kopanky.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukraine’s defense forces repelled 23 enemy assaults in the areas of Rivnopillia, Pryvilne, Rozlyv, Kostiantynopil, and Burlatske, as well as toward Odradne and Bahatyr.

In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 20 Russian attacks yesterday. The enemy carried out 235 artillery strikes, including 15 using multiple launch rocket systems, and launched 14 airstrikes, dropping a total of 23 guided aerial bombs (FABs).

Situation in other areas of the front

Over the past day, six combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv direction, with the enemy attacking in the areas of Vovchansk and Kamianka.

In the Kupiansk direction, six assaults by the occupiers were recorded during the day. Ukraine’s defense forces repelled enemy offensive actions near the settlements of Kolisnykivka, Nova Krugliakivka, and Zahryzove.

In the Siversk direction, defense forces repelled one enemy assault in the area of Bilohorivka.

Over the past day in the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy launched eight assault actions in the area of Chasiv Yar and toward Novomarkove and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out eight attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske, Druzhba, and Sukha Balka.

In the Huliaipole direction, near Vysoke (formerly Chervone), defense forces repelled six enemy assaults.

In the Orikhiv direction, the invaders launched five assaults on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, and Stepove.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the aggressor did not conduct offensive actions over the past day.

No signs of enemy offensive group formations were observed in the Volyn and Polissia directions.

Russian losses in Ukraine

On May 2, Russia’s losses amounted to 1,170 personnel. In addition, Ukrainian forces destroyed four tanks, 48 artillery systems, one air defense system, 126 operational-tactical UAVs, one cruise missile, 121 vehicles, and one unit of special equipment.

Moreover, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 11 areas where enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated. They also hit two command posts, two artillery systems, two air defense assets, and one enemy electronic warfare station.
