Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 29

The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck 16 areas where enemy forces were concentrated. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed the updated battle maps.
Over the past day, Ukrainian Defense Forces steadfastly held back Russia's pressure on the front, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers. A total of 178 combat clashes were recorded.
The enemy launched one missile strike, carried out 115 airstrikes, and dropped 201 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, 6,010 shellings were recorded during the day, including 88 from multiple rocket launcher systems. Russian forces also used 2,858 kamikaze drones.
Enemy airstrikes targeted the areas of the settlements of Naumivka, Novodmytrivka, Myropilske, Petrushivka (Sumy region); Novopil, Popiv, Volodymyrivka, Poltavka, Nova Poltavka, Malynivka, Kozatske, Hrodivka, Novoekonomichne, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Sukhyi Yar, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Zelene Pole, Piddubne (Donetsk region); Huliaipole, Pavlivka, Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia region), and Olhivka (Kherson region).
In response, aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 16 areas of concentration of enemy personnel and equipment, one air defense unit, and two enemy artillery systems.
Situation by direction:
Kharkiv direction: Russian troops attempted nine breakthroughs near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Zapadne, and Mala Shapkivka.

Kupiansk direction: seven enemy attacks were recorded in the areas of Zahryzove, Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, and Nova Kruhliakivka.
Lyman direction: Russian forces carried out 18 attacks in the areas of Katerynivka, Nove, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, Lypove, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, and Novyi Myr.
Siversk direction: Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled six enemy attacks near Ivano-Darivka, Hryhorivka, and Verkhniokamianske.
Kramatorsk direction: Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions ten times in the areas of Markove, Chasiv Yar, and Bila Hora.
Toretsk direction: 14 enemy attacks were recorded in the areas of Toretsk, Druzhba, Diliivka, and Dachne.
Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled 59 enemy assaults in the areas of Sukhа Balka, Yelyzavetivka, Sukhyi Yar, Malynivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Novooleksandrivka, Nadiivka, Troitske, Kotliarivka, Sribne, Andriivka, as well as near Pokrovsk, Stara Mykolaivka, Oleksandropil, and Novopavlivka.
Novopavlivka direction: the enemy carried out 23 attacks near Pryvilne, Kostiantynopil, Vilne Pole, Odradne, Bahatyr, and Shevchenko.
Huliaipole direction: no combat clashes were recorded.
Orikhiv direction: Ukrainian forces stopped five enemy attacks near Shcherbaky, Stepove, and Lobkove.
Prydniprovsk direction: Ukrainian forces stopped five Russian assaults.
Volyn and Polissia directions: no signs of enemy strike group formation were detected.
Kursk direction: Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations in the territory of the Kursk region. Over the past day, 15 combat clashes occurred; the enemy carried out 17 airstrikes (27 guided bombs) and conducted 338 shellings, one of which involved an MLRS.
Russian losses
Over the past day, Russian invaders lost 1,060 military personnel. Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed five enemy tanks, 14 armored fighting vehicles, 42 artillery systems, one air defense unit, 94 operational-tactical level UAVs, and 140 military vehicles.
