Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 23

In the past 24 hours, on March 22, there were 147 combat engagements on the front lines. The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck drone control points and a key Russian target, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the past day, aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 17 areas where enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated.
"Among the targets hit were an artillery system, two air defense systems, an electronic warfare system, two drone control points, and another important enemy target," the report states.
Pokrovsk direction
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 44 assault actions by the enemy.
"This happened in the areas of the settlements of Panteleymonivka, Kalynove, Vodiane Druhe, Yelizavetivka, Novoukrainka, Zelenie Pole, Lysivka, Udachne, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Kotlyarivka, Andriivka, Novoandriivka, and in the direction of Pokrovsk," said the military.
Situation on other frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted to breach the defense lines of our defenders four times near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were four attacks by the invaders yesterday. Our defenders repelled enemy assault actions near Zahryzove and in the direction of Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 21 times. They attempted to break through our defenses near the settlements of Nadia, Dibrova, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, Torske, and in the directions of Novo and Novomykhailivka.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy made three attempts to advance in the areas of Bilohorivka and Spirne.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers unsuccessfully attacked once in the area west of Andriivka.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy made 22 attacks near the settlements of Krymske, Diliivka, Druzhba, Toretsk, and in the direction of Shcherbynivka.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy carried out 17 attacks yesterday in the areas of Kostiantynopil and Rozlyv.
In the Orikhiv direction, the occupation forces attempted to advance twice towards the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the directions of Shcherbakiv and Novodanylivka.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive group formations were detected.
In the Hulyaipole and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy did not carry out active offensive operations.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations in the Kursk region. Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 19 airstrikes, dropping 28 KAB bombs, and carried out 357 shellings, 11 of which were from multiple rocket launchers. Ukrainian defenders stopped 25 enemy assault actions.
Russian losses in Ukraine
Over the past day, Russia's losses amounted to 1,470 military personnel. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 9 tanks, 27 armored fighting vehicles, 104 artillery systems, 6 multiple rocket launchers, 5 air defense systems, 157 operational-tactical UAVs, 185 vehicles, and two units of special equipment used by the occupiers.
