Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 9

On March 8, 167 combat clashes took place on the frontlines in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck two Russian drone control points and hit 18 areas with enemy troops, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Situation in the Pokrovsk direction
On the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 25 assault and offensive actions by the enemy in the directions of the settlements of Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Andriivka, Oleksandropil, Pokrovsk, Serhiivka, Novooleksandrivka, Bohdanivka, Tarasivka, Lysivka, Zelenyi Kut, and Ulaky.
Situation in other directions
In the Kharkiv direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled six enemy attacks in the area of Vovchansk and towards Petro-Ivanivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, 11 enemy attacks occurred over the past day. The Defense Forces repelled assault actions by the enemy near the settlements of Kindrashivka, Lozova, Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 23 times, attempting to advance near Novomykhailivka, Nove, Myrnyi, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, and Zelena Dolyna.
In the Kramatorsk direction, two combat clashes were recorded in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 19 attacks near Druzhba and Toretsk.
In the Novopavlivsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled six enemy attacks near Kostiantynopil and Burlatsky.
In the Hulyaipole direction, the invaders launched three attacks towards Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy assaults in the directions of the settlements of Piatykhatky, Stepove, Shcherbaky, and Kamianske.
In the Siversk and Prydniprovskyi directions, no combat clashes were recorded over the past day.
In the operational zone in the Kursk region, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 44 attacks by Russian invaders. Additionally, the enemy carried out 30 airstrikes using 44 guided bombs and conducted 577 artillery shellings of our positions and settlements, including 52 from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
Russian losses in Ukraine
Overall, Russian losses over the past day amounted to 1,180 soldiers. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 6 tanks, 14 armored combat vehicles, 58 artillery systems, 3 MLRS, 2 air defense systems, 190 operational-tactical UAVs, 142 vehicles, and one unit of special equipment belonging to the invaders.
