Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 26

Over the past day, more than 98 combat clashes took place on the frontline. Most of them occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
In the past 24 hours, 98 combat clashes were recorded. The enemy carried out 92 airstrikes and dropped 128 guided aerial bombs. In total, 5,672 shellings were conducted, including 108 from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and 3,439 kamikaze drones were used.
The most intense strikes were recorded in the areas of Halahanivka (Chernihiv region), Hlukhiv (Sumy region), Zolochiv, Udiv, Yemtsiv, Monachynivka (Kharkiv region), Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk, Toretsk, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Novopole (Donetsk region), Huliaipole, Stepove (Zaporizhzhia region), and Novotiagynka (Kherson region).
Situation on frontline
Ukrainian forces struck 17 enemy personnel and equipment concentration areas, destroyed two command posts, an ammunition depot, an artillery system, and two enemy electronic warfare/radar stations.
Kharkiv direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian attacks near Vovchansk and Dvorichna.
Kupiansk direction: Five enemy attacks took place, including near Petropavlivka and Zahryzove.
Lyman direction: Nine Russian assaults were recorded near Nadiia, Novoliubivka, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, and Yampolivka.
Siversk direction: The enemy attacked seven times in the areas of Bilohorivka, Ivano-Darivka, and Verkhnokamianske.
Kramatorsk direction: Russian forces launched one attack near Chasiv Yar.
Toretsk direction: Seven enemy attacks occurred near Toretsk and Krymske.
Pokrovsk direction: Ukraine`s Defense Forces repelled 25 Russian attacks near Promin, Tarasivka, Kotlyne, Pishchane, Nadiivka, Preobrazhenka, and Andriivka.
Novopavlivsk direction: Eleven enemy attacks were recorded, including near Kostiantynopil, Novocheretuvate, and Burlatske.
Orikhiv direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian attacks in the areas of Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske, and Novoandriivka.
Prydniprovsk direction: One unsuccessful enemy attack was recorded
Huliaipole direction: Russian troops did not conduct active operations.
Ukrainian forces continue their operation in the Kursk region, striking enemy positions. Over the past day, Russian troops conducted 16 airstrikes, dropped 26 guided bombs, and carried out 469 artillery shellings. Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy assaults.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were recorded in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
Enemy losses
Over the past day, Ukraine`s Defense Forces eliminated 1,170 Russian soldiers, along with:
- 19 tanks
- 15 armored combat vehicles
- 34 artillery systems
- 2 air defense systems
- 194 drones
- 120 military vehicles
From February 25 to February 26, the Russian army lost 1,170 personnel, 19 tanks, and 120 military vehicles in the war against Ukraine.
As of February 26, 2025, the total enemy combat losses since February 24, 2022, are approximately:
