Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 22

In the past day, there were 90 combat clashes on the front lines. Ukrainian forces struck enemy concentration areas, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the past day, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces targeted seven areas of troop concentration, weapons, and military equipment, as well as three enemy artillery systems.
Situation on the fronts
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted to breach the defensive lines of Ukrainian defenders near Vovchansk twice.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were five attacks by the invaders yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy's assault actions near Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked seven times, trying to penetrate the defenses near the settlements of Kopanky, Novoliubivka, Terny, Yampolivka, and Kolodyazi.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers launched three attacks in the area of the settlement of Vasiukivka.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 13 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske, Shcherbynivka, and Dyliivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders halted 29 assault actions of the aggressor towards the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Svyrydonivka, Promin, Pishchane, Serhiivka, Andriivka, Ulakly, Udachne, Nadiivka, and Molodetske.
In the Novopavlivsk direction, the enemy conducted five attacks yesterday towards Kostiantynopil and Burlatske.
In the Orikhiv direction, the occupying forces stormed the positions of the Defense Forces three times in the areas of the settlements of Shcherbaky and Piatykhatky.
In the Siversk, Huliaipole, and Dniprovsk directions, the enemy did not conduct any active operations yesterday.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, there were no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue operations in the Kursk region. Over the past day, the enemy carried out 31 air strikes, dropping 43 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 437 shelling attacks, three of which were from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 assault actions of the invaders.
Russian losses at the front
In nearly three years of full-scale war, Russia has lost 866,000 soldiers. Over the past day, Ukrainian forces eliminated 1,140 Russians.
As reported earlier by the Ministry of Defense, last year was a record year for Russia in terms of losses, both among personnel and equipment. In one year, Russian losses exceeded 400,000 military personnel.
