Russia's losses in Ukraine as of February 22: +1,140 troops, 155 drones, 66 artillery systems

Over the past day, from February 21 to 22, the Russian army lost 1,140 soldiers, 15 tanks, and 139 vehicles in its war against Ukraine. The total number of enemy equipment losses for the day stands at 230 units, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to February 22, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 866,000 (+1,140) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 10,161 (+15);
- armored personnel vehicles - 21,139 (+9);
- artillery systems - 23,528 (+66);
- MLRS - 1,295;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,080;
- aircraft - 370;
- helicopters - 331;
- UAVs operational-tactical level - 26,311 (+155);
- cruise missiles - 3,064;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- motor vehicles and fuel tanks - 38,243 (+139);
- special equipment - 3,754 (+1).
Situation on the front line and Russia’s drone attack
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian forces have made gains near Kurakhove, Velyka Novosilka, and in the Kursk region.
Last night, the invaders once again attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type drones.
As a result of falling drone debris in Kyiv, a fire broke out, and a building was damaged.
In the Kyiv region, drone fragments killed a railway worker and caused a fire at a warehouse facility.
