As of 10 p.m., February 2, 93 combat engagements took place on the frontline since the beginning of the day. Almost half of them took place in the Pokrovsk direction alone, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
Russian shellings and air attacks
Today, the Russians launched three missiles and 36 air strikes, using three missiles and 62 guided bombs, 992 kamikaze drone strikes, and fired almost 4,500 times at Ukrainian troops' positions.
The situation at the frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian attacks near the town of Hatyshche.
The Russian forces attacked Ukrainian fortifications in the Kupiansk direction 18 times in the vicinity of Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Stepova Novoselivka, Bohuslavka, Zahryzove, and Lozova. Three firefights are still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops stormed Ukrainian positions eight times in the vicinity of Novoyehorivka, Novoliubivka, Makiivka, Yampolivka, and in the direction of Serebrianka.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled two attacks by Russian troops near Bilohorivka and Ivano-Dariivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two Russian attacks near Predtechyne and Chasiv Yar, one attack is still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Toretsk and Krymske eight times today.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian troops carried out 39 assault and offensive actions during the day. Russian militants are active in the areas of Zelene Pole, Tarasivka, Uspenivka, Yelyzavetivka, Vodiane Druhe, Myroliubivka, Promin, Kotliarivka, Oleksiivka, Dachne and Ulakly, two firefights are still ongoing.
“According to preliminary estimates, today our troops eliminated 156 and wounded 195 occupants in this sector; destroyed one tank, two self-propelled artillery systems, 16 vehicles, two radar stations, one motorcycle, and damaged a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, a mortar and two occupant cannons,” the statement said.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the invaders made one attack on the positions of Ukrainian troops, trying to advance in the direction of Kostiantynopil.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Russians launched an air strike near Novopil.
In the Orikhiv direction, one firefight took place in the vicinity of Kamianske.
In the Prydniprovsky direction, Russian invaders did not conduct any offensive actions but conducted an air strike near Kherson.
Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to conduct operations in the Kursk direction. Today, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 12 attacks of the Russian army in this area, and five engagements are currently ongoing, in addition, Russian aircraft conducted 16 air strikes on their own territory, dropping 21 drones, and the Russians also fired 363 times at settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops (including 2 times with MLRS).
There were no significant changes in the situation in other directions.
110 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the previous day, February 1. As in the previous days, most of the fighting was recorded in the vicinity of Pokrovsk.
