As of 10 p.m., February 1, 104 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. Most of the fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
Russian attacks
Today, the enemy launched two missiles and 34 air strikes, using 40 missiles and 39 guided bombs, 739 strikes by kamikaze drones, and fired almost 4,500 times at Ukrainian troops.
The situation on the frontlines
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russians carried out 39 assault and offensive actions during the day. They were most active in the areas of Zelene Pole, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Zvirove, Udachne, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Sribne and Dachne.
“According to preliminary estimates, today our troops eliminated 151 and wounded 126 occupants in this area; destroyed a Msta-B howitzer, a BM-21 Grad MLRS, a mortar, three cars, three motorcycles, and two tactical UAVs, and damaged two vehicles, two 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers and a tank,” the statement said.
The Russians attacked Ukrainian fortifications in the Kupiansk direction 17 times in the areas near Topoli, Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novosilka, Hlushkivka, Zahryzove and Lozova.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops stormed Ukrainian positions 15 times near Novoyehorivka, Terny, Yampolivka, Kolodyazi, Torske, and in the direction of Novomykhailivka.
In the Siversk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled four attacks by Russian troops near Verkhniokamianske and Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled seven Russian attacks near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders seven times in the areas of Toretsk and Krymske.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the invaders made two attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions, trying to advance towards Kostiantynopil and Rozlyv. Russian attack aircraft struck in the area of Vremivka.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Russians made two attempts to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near Novosilka. Novopil suffered from Russian air strikes.
In the Orikhiv direction, two firefights took place near Shcherbaky and Nesterianka.
In the Prydniprovsky direction, Russian militants tried once to force Ukrainian units out of their positions but failed and suffered losses.
Ukrainian defense forces continue to conduct operations in the Kursk direction. Today, Ukrainian soldiers repelled six attacks by the Russian army in this area, one firefight is still ongoing, and Russian aircraft conducted 18 air strikes on their own territory, dropping 23 drones, and the Russians also fired 230 times at Ukrainian settlements and positions.
134 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the previous day. Almost half of them, as has been happening lately, took place in the Pokrovsk direction.
