Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 14

Since the beginning of January 14, there have been 84 combat clashes on the front. The Russian forces are mainly attacking in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kharkiv direction, the activity of enemy aviation resulted in strikes on Vovchansk and Veterynarne.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops twice attacked the positions of the Defense Forces near Nova Kruhlyakivka and Tabayivka, with fighting still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the invader army conducted 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Kopanky, Hrekivka, Novoyehorivka, Raigorodka, Makiivka, Zarichne, Terny, and Hryhorivka. Six engagements are still ongoing. Enemy aviation carried out strikes with guided bombs on Velykyi Burluk, Kupiansk, Hlushkivka, Novoosynove, and Prystin.
The Russian forces continue to search for weaknesses in our defense near Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Ivano-Dariivka, and Vyimka in the Siversk direction. The Defense Forces successfully repelled 11 enemy attacks, with three engagements still ongoing. Additionally, the enemy carried out an airstrike with guided bombs on Zvanivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian assault attempts, with eight attacks still ongoing as the enemy tries to break through to Stupochky, Predtechyne, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and the Chasiv Yar area.
In the Toretsk direction, our defenders are repelling two enemy assaults near the settlement of Toretsk. The enemy also carried out airstrikes with guided bombs on the areas of the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Oleksandro-Kalynove.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army made 23 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Yantarne, Novotoretske, Promin, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Chunyshyne, Zvirivka, Uspenivka, Novoandriivka, Nadiivka, Petropavlivka, and Shevchenko. The Defense Forces are holding their ground, having repelled 15 enemy attacks, with eight engagements still ongoing.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy made five attempts to break through our defense in the areas of the settlements of Velyka Novosilka and Neskuchne. Fighting is ongoing.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy attempted to storm our positions once without success.
In the Kursk direction, 12 engagements took place since the beginning of the day, with four still ongoing. Additionally, the enemy carried out three airstrikes, dropping three guided bombs.
Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine, Russia has lost over 811,000 soldiers.
In particular, in the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces eliminated 1,330 Russian soldiers. Additionally, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 3 tanks, 11 armored combat vehicles, 47 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment yesterday.
