Since the beginning of January 12, 124 combat engagements have occurred on the front lines. The enemy is exerting the most pressure in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kramatorsk directions, as well as in the Kursk region, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

The Russian forces carried out 28 airstrikes using 36 guided aerial bombs and launched two missile strikes involving two missiles.

In addition, the Russian army deployed 985 kamikaze drones and conducted approximately 5,000 shelling attacks on the positions of our forces and populated areas.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, our forces repelled four enemy attacks near the settlements of Vovchansk and Kozacha Lopan. One battle is still ongoing. The enemy attacked the village of Veterynarne using unguided aerial rockets.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched eight assaults on the positions of our defenders in the areas of Petropavlivka and Pishchane. Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks, with two engagements still underway.

In the Lyman direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have attacked Ukrainian positions 11 times near the settlements of Kopanky, Shyikivka, Pershotravneve, Makiivka, Terny, and Zarichne. One battle is still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 14 engagements have been recorded near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky, all of which have now concluded.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army attacked Defense Forces positions 11 times. The main efforts of the enemy's offensive were concentrated near the settlements of Toretsk, Bila Hora, and Shcherbynivka. One battle is still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces have made 50 attempts to breach our defenses near the settlements of Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Promin, Novyi Trud, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novovasylivka, Sribne, Petropavlivka, Novoandriivka, Dachne, Shevchenko, and Yantarne. Six engagements are currently ongoing.

In the areas of Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk, the enemy dropped guided aerial bombs. The enemy is suffering significant losses — 376 Russian soldiers have been neutralized in this direction today, with 184 of them being irrecoverable losses. Additionally, four units of automotive equipment were destroyed, and two enemy guns were damaged.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked our positions nine times near the settlements of Kostiantynopil, Neskuchne, Vremivka, and Rivnopil, with three engagements still ongoing. In this direction, the enemy actively used aviation, and airstrikes hit Novopil, Malynivka, Kostiantynopil, Komar, and Velyka Novosilka.

In the Siversk, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy has not carried out any active operations since the beginning of the day.

In the operational zone of the Kursk region, Ukrainian Defense Forces units repelled 17 attacks by Russian forces throughout the day. The enemy carried out over 400 shelling attacks, delivered 10 airstrikes, and used 11 guided aerial bombs.

In other directions, the situation has not undergone significant changes.

Russia's attacks on Ukraine

Russian forces continue their large-scale shelling of peaceful Ukrainian settlements.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, over the past week, our military has shot down more than 400 Russian aerial attack systems.

On January 12, the Russian army attacked Zaporizhzhia with a drone, injuring one person.

In the Sumy region, Russian forces struck a bus with a combat drone, injuring two people.
