Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 12

On January 11, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck four areas of Russian troop concentration. A total of 184 combat engagements took place on the front, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In total, 184 combat clashes were recorded over the past day.
"Over the past day, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck four areas of enemy personnel concentration and an artillery system," the report reads.
The "hottest" direction
Russia continues to concentrate forces for attacks in the Pokrovsk direction. In this area, Ukrainian defenders stopped 77 offensive actions by the aggressor.
The enemy actively used aviation, striking Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Baranivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Zvirove, Novoandriivka, Uspenivka, Slovyanka, and Konstantynopolske.
Situation in other directions
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian terrorists unsuccessfully attempted to assault Ukrainian positions near Kozacha Lopan once.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 18 enemy attacks over the past day. Defense Forces repelled assaults near Holubivka, Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, the invaders attacked Ukrainian positions 23 times, attempting to breach the defense near Zelenyi Hai, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Terny, Zarichne, Hryhorivka, and in the Serebryanske Forest.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one assault by Russian invaders near Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attempted to advance 27 times near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, over the past day, occupiers conducted six assaults on Ukrainian positions near Toretsk and Dyliivka.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian forces five times near Novosilka and Velyka Novosilka.
In the Pydniprovskyi direction, the invaders unsuccessfully attempted twice to dislodge Defense Forces from their positions.
In the Kursk operational zone, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 18 enemy attacks over the past day, with one battle still ongoing. Enemy aviation conducted six strikes using seven guided aerial bombs on Russian territory.
In the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions, the enemy did not take offensive actions yesterday.
No signs of enemy offensive group formations were observed in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy uses artillery from Russian territory to target Ukrainian settlements and conducts reconnaissance activities.
Russia's losses in Ukraine
On January 11, Russian losses amounted to 1,750 personnel. Ukrainian forces also neutralized:
- 5 tanks,
- 18 armored fighting vehicles,
- 22 artillery systems,
- 63 UAVs,
- 1 cruise missile,
- 64 vehicles,
- and 2 units of specialized equipment.
