Russia's losses in Ukraine as of January 12: +over 1,700 troops and 22 artillery systems
Over the past day, from January 11 to January 12, Russian forces lost 1,750 soldiers, 5 tanks, and 64 vehicles on the frontlines, according to the data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to January 12, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 808,250 (+1,750) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 9,756 (+5);
- armored personnel vehicle - 20,289 (+18);
- artillery systems - 21,839 (+22);
- MLRS - 1,260;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,042;
- aircraft - 369;
- helicopters - 331;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 22,021 (+63);
- cruise missiles - 3018 (+1);
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 33,598 (+64);
- special equipment - 3,694 (+2).
Frontline situation and Russian attacks
Last night, Russian forces launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine’s airspace using Shahed-type kamikaze drones. All enemy targets were either intercepted or lost their trajectory.
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian Armed Forces made gains near Sudzha in the Kursk region over the past day.
Additionally, US analysts highlighted the implications for North Korea due to its involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine.
