In the past 24 hours, on January 4, 179 combat clashes occurred on the frontlines in Ukraine. The occupiers continue to focus their efforts on the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 45 enemy offensive actions," the report states.

The Russians have continued attempts to storm the areas of Myrne, Tymofiivka, Baranivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Pokrovsk, Pishchane, Shevchenkove, Novooleksandrivka, Solone, Novoolenivka, Kotlyne, and Novovasylivka.

Situation on other directions

In total, 179 combat clashes were recorded in the past 24 hours.

In the Kharkiv direction, two enemy attacks occurred near the settlements of Starytsia and Vovchansk, with the enemy also actively using bomber aircraft.

In the Kupiansk direction, four attacks by the occupiers were repelled. Defense forces resisted enemy assaults near Zahryzove and Petropavlivka.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 16 attacks, attempting to advance near Pervomaiske, Nadiya, Novoserhiivka, Makiivka, Novoyehorivka, Yampolivka, Terny, Hryhorivka, and the Serebryanske forestry.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled nine attacks in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, Klishchiivka, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 11 attacks near Toretsk, Diliivka, Krymske, and Shcherbynivka.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces repelled 28 enemy assaults. The enemy also carried out airstrikes on settlements. The main enemy efforts were focused on areas near Sribne, Petropavlivka, Konstantynopol, Kurakhove, and Konstantynopolske.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy conducted 17 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Dachne and Yantarne.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an attempt by the enemy to advance near Novodanylivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian invaders attacked positions three times but faced tough resistance and suffered losses near the Zabich and Kozatsky islands.

In the Kursk direction, the enemy launched 33 assaults on positions, conducted 336 artillery strikes, carried out 17 airstrikes, and dropped 25 KABs.

In the Siversk and Hulyaipole directions, the enemy did not carry out any active operations.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were detected.

Along the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy from Russian territory actively used artillery and aviation to target Ukrainian settlements.

Russian losses in Ukraine

On January 4, Russia’s losses amounted to 1,730 military personnel. Ukrainian forces also destroyed seven tanks, 26 armored vehicles, 25 artillery systems, 91 UAVs, 97 vehicles, and two units of special equipment.

Additionally, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two locations where enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, as well as enemy command points, two guns, an air defense system, and two UAV control points.
