Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 15

Since the beginning of the day, December 15, as of 22:00, 214 combat engagements took place at the front. As in the previous day, the majority of combat actions were recorded in the Siversk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Vremivka sectors, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
Today, the Russians launched 2 missiles and 34 air strikes (53 drones) on the territory of Ukraine. In addition, 606 kamikaze drones were used and more than 3,400 attacks were made on Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.
Situation at the frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy stormed our positions near Vysoka Yaruga, Vovchansk, and Tykhe. Nine attacks were repelled by the defense forces, and one firefight is ongoing.
“The enemy's losses in the sector amounted to 90 soldiers killed and wounded, four vehicles, nine UAVs, and a unit of enemy special equipment were destroyed. Three vehicles and one artillery system were also damaged,” the General Staff noted.
Kupiansk direction: the enemy conducted offensive actions near Zahryzove and Lozova. Three battles are over, one is still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian invaders stormed the positions of the Defense Forces 18 times near Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Terny, Tverdokhlibove, and Nadiya. Ukrainian defenders stopped 15 enemy attacks, three firefights are still ongoing.
Siversk direction: the enemy stormed our positions 33 times near Bilohorivka, Verkhnekamianske, Ivano-Daryivka, and Vyymka, fighting is currently ongoing in 17 locations.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky, all attempts by the invaders to advance were stopped by Ukrainian troops.
In the Toretsk direction, with the support of bomber aircraft, the enemy carried out 11 assault operations. The invaders stormed the positions of Ukrainian units near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Seven attacks were repelled, and four combat engagements are still ongoing.
Pokrovsk direction: since the beginning of the day, the enemy attacked 27 times in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zelene, Pishchane, and Novoolenivka. Ukrainian troops repelled 16 attacks, and 11 combat engagements are still ongoing.
“According to the available data, the enemy's losses so far amounted to 362 servicemen killed and wounded; two tanks, six vehicles, an ATGM, and a UAV control antenna were destroyed by Ukrainian troops,” the statement said.
In the Kurakhove direction, the invaders attacked 31 times near Stari Terny, Sontsivka, Zorya, Kurakhove, and Uspenivka. 23 attacks have already been repelled, and the fighting continues.
In the Vremivka direction, fighting is ongoing near Sukhi Yaly, Rozlyv, Zelenivka, and Makarivka. In the areas of Kostiantynopolske, Trudove, Novyi Komar, and Novosilka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 23 enemy attacks.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped three attempts to attack our positions.
In the Kursk region, our defenders repelled 26 enemy attacks, and the invaders continued to attack.
The situation in other sectors remains unchanged.
“Today, it is worth mentioning the soldiers of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade, 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush, 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk, 425th separate assault battalion, who are effectively destroying the enemy, causing significant losses in manpower and equipment,” the General Staff summarized.
Today, the General Staff also reported separately on the situation in Kurakhove. They noted that the enemy is conducting active assault operations on the southeastern outskirts of the city. At the same time, the Russians are trying to seize a road junction and an apartment block in the southern part of the town.
