Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 15

As of 4:00 PM Kyiv time, December 15, 152 combat engagements have taken place on the frontlines since the beginning of the day. Most battles were recorded in the Siversk, Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, and Vremivka directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian Shelling
The General Staff informed that today, communities in Sumy and Chernihiv regions suffered from enemy artillery and mortar fire, including the settlements of Bleshnya, Porozok, and Slavgorod.
Situation on the frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is attempting to exert pressure on Ukrainian units near Vysoka Yaruha, Vovchansk, and the Tykhe area. In total, the enemy launched nine assaults on Ukrainian positions, with one battle ongoing. Baranivka and Shopyne suffered airstrikes using glide bombs.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy assaulted Ukrainian positions four times near Zagryzove and Lozova. Three engagements are still ongoing. Ukrainian forces continue to hold their defenses firmly.
In the Lyman direction, the occupiers launched seven attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Terny, Tverdokhlibove, and Nadiya. One engagement is ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled ten attacks by Russian occupiers, and 14 engagements are currently ongoing. The enemy is attacking near Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamyanske, Ivano-Daryivka, and Vyimka. Enemy airstrikes struck Siversk.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian occupiers attacked three times near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, seven enemy attacks occurred near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian forces have already repelled two of these, and battles continue. The enemy is also actively deploying bomber aircraft, striking the settlement of Krymske.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the occupiers have made 20 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zelene, Pishchane, and Novooleynivka. The Defense Forces are holding back the pressure and have repelled 13 enemy attacks, with seven ongoing engagements. The enemy used unguided aviation rockets to strike Oleksandropil and dropped bombs on Mykolayivka.
In the Kurakhove direction, the occupiers launched 23 attacks near Stari Terny, Sontsivka, Zoria, Kurakhove, and Uspenivka. Fifteen enemy attacks have already been repelled. Battles continue. The enemy bombed Bahatyr, Andriivka, and Oleksiivka with glide bombs.
In the Vremivka direction, thirteen engagements occur near Kostiantynopil, Sukhi Yaly, Rozlyv, Zelenivka, Trudove, Novyi Komar, Novosilka, and Makarivka. Ukrainian forces have already repelled 12 enemy assaults.
In the Orikhiv direction, the occupation forces are shelling Ukrainian government-controlled territory, targeting civilian infrastructure and settlements.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy failed to assault Ukrainian defenders.
Operations continue in the Kursk region. Enemy aviation and artillery continue striking their own territory. Today, Ukrainian forces have repelled 11 enemy attacks, with combat engagements ongoing in 17 locations.
Recall that over the past day, from December 14 to 15, the Russian army lost another 1,280 soldiers on the frontlines. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 12 tanks, 26 artillery systems, and 32 enemy armored vehicles.
