Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 7

Since the start of December 7, there have been 182 combat clashes along the front lines. The highest intensity of enemy attacks and assaults was recorded in the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, and Vremivka directions, reports the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The military command provided an update on the operational situation as of 10:00 p.m. Kyive time on December 7.
Russian shelling
Since the beginning of December 7, Russian forces have carried out 24 airstrikes, dropped 40 guided aerial bombs (GABs), and launched 429 attacks using kamikaze drones.
Additionally, the enemy has conducted nearly 3,000 shelling attacks on the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
Frontline situation
The General Staff noted that Ukrainian defenders were focusing their efforts on disrupting the Russian army's plans for an offensive and exhausting their combat potential.
In the Kharkiv direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled two enemy attacks near Vovchansk. The General Staff reported that the Russian army dropped guided bombs in the areas of Kozacha Lopan and Orishanka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army launched 9 attacks on Ukrainian fortifications. Eight battles have already concluded in the areas of Lozova, Masiutivka, Hlushkivka, Kolisnykivka, and Zelenyi Hai. The enemy's airstrikes targeted Kivsharivka, Zapadne, and Velyka Shapkivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 22 assaults on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Tverdokhlibivka, Kopanky, Bohuslavka, Hrekivka, Cherneshchyna, Makiivka, Zarichne, Terny, Yampolivka, Druzhlyubivka, and the Serebryanske Forestry. Two attacks are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy's attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Bila Hora failed, with Ukrainian forces repelling 7 enemy attacks in total.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army launched 7 assaults in the areas of Toretsk, Dilyivka, and Nelipivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army carried out 35 assault and offensive actions. The General Staff emphasizes that the highest enemy activity remains in the areas of Promin, Lysivka, Dachenko, Pushkine, Zoria, Hrodivka, Sukhнi Yar, Myrnoрrad, Zhovte, Novyi Trud, and Novotroitske.
The Russian army also used aviation strike assets during attacks on Novotroitske.
"According to preliminary calculations, today our soldiers eliminated 146 and wounded 194 Russian soldiers in this direction; they destroyed two armored fighting vehicles and three cars," the General Staff reported.
In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy is also attacking intensively, with 42 combat encounters already taking place. Ukrainian forces repelled enemy attacks near Sontsivka, Zoria, Kurakhove, Yelizavetivka, Romanivka, Hannivka, Uspenivka, Rozlyv, Stari Terny, Dachne, and Neskuchne.
The General Staff added that enemy bombers were actively operating in the areas of Shevchenko, Andriivka, Oleksiivka, Bahatyr, and Kostyantynopil.
In the Vremivka direction, the Russian army attempted to break through 30 times near the settlements of Veselyi Hai, Kostyantynopil, Sukhi Yaly, Novodarivka, Novosilka, Temyrivka, Neskuchne, and Velyka Novosilka. The General Staff reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not allow the enemy to advance, and two combat encounters are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled one enemy attack towards Novodanylivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces conducted three unsuccessful assaults.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 14 attacks by the Russian army, and three combat encounters are still ongoing.
The General Staff added that no significant changes have occurred on other fronts.
On December 7, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Task Force Luhansk Anastasia Bobovnikova reported that Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions near Toretsk using scooters, but the enemy failed.
