This afternoon, December 1, the number of hostilities at the frontline in Ukraine has decreased compared to the situation a day earlier, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. So far, 111 combat engagements have taken place, compared to more than 150 yesterday, on Saturday, as of 4 p.m.

The General Staff noted that the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions continue to suffer from enemy artillery shelling (on December 1, a number of settlements were affected, including Novovasylivka, Bleshnia, Hremyachka, Bachivsk, Leonivka, and Karpovychi).
Situation at the frontline
“Our defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the line, and destroying the plans of the Russians. At the same time, the occupants continue to focus their efforts on the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Vremivka directions and in the Kursk region,” the report says.
In the Kharkiv direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks near Starytsia, Tykhe, and Vovchansk, and 1 more battle is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian militants tried to advance 6 times to the Ukrainian Armed Forces positions near Lozova, Kruhliakivka, and Zelenyi Hai. Currently, 2 battles are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy also increased the number of attacks to 6, and the attacks took place near Druzheliubivka, Hrekivka, Hryhorivka, Terny, and Torske. 2 firefights are currently ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled one attack in the area of Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy tried to advance 5 times in the area of Toretsk and in the direction of Shcherbynivka. 1 battle is currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy remains active - 22 clashes of varying intensity started here today. Enemy attacks were repelled in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zhovte, and Chumatske. Currently, five battles are still ongoing.
Fierce fighting continues in the Kurakhove direction, the General Staff noted. Near Berestky, Sontsivka, Zorya, Novodmitrivka, Kurakhove, Dalne, Yelyzavetivka, and Hannivka, 33 combat engagements took place during the day, 14 attacks by the invaders are ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian Armed Forces positions 19 times in the areas of Kostiantynopolske, Trudove, Velyka Novosilka, Novosilka, Novyi Komar, and Novodarivka. Nine battles are currently underway.
In the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 6 attacks by Russian troops, and 12 battles have already taken place in the area.
The General Staff added that there were no significant changes in the situation in other areas.
Earlier it was reported that British intelligence analyzed the advance of Russian troops after the capture of Vuhledar. It is noted that the village of Velyka Novosilka is under enemy attack.
In November, Russian troops suffered the largest losses in personnel since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine - 45,720 servicemen.
