Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 16

There were 170 combat engagements on the front line over the past day. Ukrainian forces repelled 30 enemy attacks in the Kursk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past day, aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck one area where personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated. Additionally, a drone ground station and an enemy communications tower were hit.
Situation in the directions
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted nine assaults on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Vysoka Yaruha and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 17 attacks by the occupiers. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy’s assaults near Kolisnykivka, Kopanky, and Nadiia.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 16 attacks, trying to break through the defense near Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Terny, and Torske.
Two combat engagements took place near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka in the Siversk direction.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers launched one attack near Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy, with air support, carried out nine attacks near Toretsk, Dyliivka, and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 38 assault and offensive actions by the aggressor in the direction of the settlements of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Petrivka, and Pustynka.
In the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces repelled 35 attacks. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of Berestkiv, Novoselydivka, Voznesenka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymiliianivka, Dalne, and Antonivka.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy carried out seven assaults on our positions in the areas of Trudovoye, Rivnopol, and Novodarivka, actively using assault and bomber aviation for strikes.
In the Orikhiv direction, the occupiers attacked once in the direction of Novoandriivka but achieved no success.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian invaders attempted five times to push Ukrainian units from their positions. They met strong resistance and suffered losses.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive group formations were detected.
Along the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy actively used artillery and aviation from Russian territory to target Ukrainian settlements.
The operation in the Kursk direction continues. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled 30 enemy attacks in the direction. Enemy aviation continues to strike with guided air bombs on their own territory. As of now, 15 airstrikes have been recorded using 19 KABs.
Russian losses
In the past day, Ukrainian forces destroyed 1,650 Russian invaders. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed dozens of armored vehicles, artillery systems, drones, and vehicles.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 719,000 military personnel.
