As of 16:00, November 9, 108 combat engagements have taken place at the front since the beginning of the day. In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled 13 attacks in the Kursk sector, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

During the day, a number of settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv regions suffered from enemy terrorist attacks. The enemy shelled Pavlivka, Volfyne, Velyka Pysarivka, Zhuravka, Bezsalivka, Ugroidy, and Leonivka with artillery. Myropillia also came under air strikes.

According to available information, Russians have conducted nine air strikes on the Kursk region of Russia today, dropping 15 guided bombs.

Situation on the frontlines

The General Staff noted that the greatest activity of the enemy is observed in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. In more detail, the situation on the battlefield is as follows.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy tried to advance to our positions in the areas of Kucherivka, Kruhliakivka, and Lozove during the day. Two enemy attacks are still ongoing. A total of four firefights were registered in the sector. Enemy aircraft attacked Kupiansk with five guided missiles.

Russians increased the number of attacks to 14 in the Lyman direction. Combat actions took place near Hrekivka, Nevske, Torske and Bilohorivka. Four firefights are ongoing. Enemy bombers struck near Terny and Yampolivka.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy was advancing near Verkhnekamianske and launched air strikes with guided aerial bombs near Siversk.

In the Kramatorsk direction, our defenders repelled an attack near Bila Hora. The enemy continues to destroy Chasiv Yar with air strikes, having already dropped nine guided bombs and struck with unguided aerial missiles.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked six times in the area of Toretsk, Diliyivka, Shcherbynivka, and Nelipivka. Four attacks were repelled, two more battles are ongoing. The enemy dropped two guided bombs on Kostiantynivka.

The enemy is still highly active in the Pokrovsk direction. Clashes of varying intensity started 28 times today. Fighting is ongoing in the vicinity of Promin.

The situation remains tense in the Kurakhove direction. Sixteen attacks were repelled near Illinka, Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymilianivka, Dalne, Katerynivka, and Antonivka, and seventeen battles are currently underway.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy is trying to advance on Ukrainian positions near Bohoyavlenka, Trudove, and Maksymivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, our defenders repelled one enemy attack.

In other areas, the enemy is conducting air strikes and artillery attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

“Ukrainian troops are depleting the enemy along the entire frontline and in the rear,” the General Staff summarized.

Over the period from November 8 to November 9, the enemy lost 1660 soldiers, 36 armored combat vehicles, and 50 drones at the front.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war against Ukraine, Russia's losses amount to 707,540 soldiers.
