From November 8 to November 9, Russian forces lost 1,660 soldiers, 36 armored vehicles, and approximately 50 drones on the frontlines, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to November 9, 2024, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 707,540 (+1,660) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 9,238 (+5);
  • armored personnel vehicle - 18,697 (+36);
  • artillery systems - 20,249 (+23);
  • MLRS - 1,245;
  • anti-aircraft warfare systems - 996;
  • aircraft - 369;
  • helicopters - 329;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 18,575 (+49);
  • cruise missiles - 2,634 (+3);
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 28,561 (+66);
  • special equipment - 3,604 (+2).

Frontline situation and shelling

According to ISW, the Ukrainian Armed Forces achieved success in the Kursk region, but the enemy continues to apply pressure in Donbas.

Overnight, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Odesa with Shahed drones.

As a result of one of the drone strikes, warehouses, high-rise buildings, and administrative buildings were damaged in the city.
