On September 28, there were 165 combat engagements on the front line, with most of them occurring in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff's update.

"Over the past day, 165 combat engagements were recorded, with more than a quarter occurring in the Pokrovsk direction," the report said.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 39 attacks, with over half of them concentrated in the areas of Selidove, Novotoretsk, Mykolaivka, and Marynivka.

Situation in other directions

In the Kharkiv direction, one enemy-initiated combat engagement took place, specifically near the settlement of Tykhe.

In the Kupiansk direction, there were 14 combat engagements. Ukrainian defense forces repelled attacks in the areas of Synkivka, Lozove, Tabaivka, and Vyshneve.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces halted 22 enemy attacks near Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka, Terny, Torske, and Bilohorivka.

In the Siversk direction, defense forces repelled five attacks near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers thwarted 12 enemy attempts to break through defenses in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Kalynivka, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attempted to advance ten times, focusing on the areas of Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Nelipivka.

In the Kurakhiv direction, defense forces continue to restrain enemy activity in the areas of Tsukuryno, Heorhiivka, Katerynivka, and Hirnyk, where the occupiers attempted 18 times to breach Ukrainian defense lines.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy made 16 attempts to capture Ukrainian positions near Vuhledar, Vodiane, and Katerynivka in the Donetsk region, and also attacked from the direction of Prychystivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, two assaults by the enemy on Ukrainian positions near Robotyne and Kamianske were repelled.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, occupiers launched three unsuccessful offensive actions, suffering losses.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged. No signs of the formation of offensive groups by Russian occupiers were detected.

In the Huliaipole direction, there were no active offensive actions by the enemy.

In the border areas with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy continues to maintain a military presence, conduct reconnaissance, and shell the area, using kamikaze drones and guided aerial bombs for airstrikes.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defense forces continue their operation. According to available information, the enemy conducted 14 airstrikes on its own territory, using 18 guided aerial bombs over the past day.

Russian losses in Ukraine

On September 28, Russian losses amounted to 1,170 personnel. In addition, Ukrainian forces neutralized nine tanks, 38 armored fighting vehicles, 62 artillery systems, a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), an air defense system, 93 operational-tactical UAVs, 84 vehicles, and six units of special equipment.

Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery also carried out six strikes on areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.
