As of 10:00 p.m. on September 24 (Kyiv time), 137 combat engagements occurred along the front. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their operation in the Kursk region, where the enemy is destroying its settlements, according to the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Kursk operation

The General Staff reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in Russia’s Kursk region continues. Meanwhile, Russian aircraft continue to destroy their cities and villages with guided aerial bombs.

Enemy shelling of Ukraine

Since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have launched one missile strike, and 57 airstrikes, and dropped 82 guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian territory. In addition, more than 730 kamikaze drones have been deployed, and over 3,600 artillery strikes have targeted Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attempted three unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian units near Vovchansk. At the same time, enemy aircraft from Shebekino (Russia) launched destructive strikes with guided aerial bombs on residential areas and civilian infrastructure in Kharkiv (seven GABs) and Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops conducted offensive actions near Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, Andriivka, Pishchane, Kruhliakivka, and Lozova. Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 enemy attacks. Fighting continues near Kruhliakivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions 22 times near Druzheliubivka, Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Nevske, Torske, Makiivka, Zarichne, and Novosadove. Seven engagements are still ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three assault actions by occupying forces toward Verkhniokamianske and Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops, supported by aircraft, attacked Ukrainian positions near Mankivka, Kalynivka, Stupochky, and Bila Hora. Ukrainian forces stopped seven Russian assaults, and two engagements are still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, 10 battles took place. Russians, also supported by aircraft, assaulted Ukrainian units toward Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. All enemy attacks were repelled.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian troops launched 24 attacks in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretsk, Zelene Pole, Novohrodivka, Krasnyi Yar, Mykolaivka, and Marynivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 23 enemy assault actions. Fighting continues near Krasnyi Yar.

"Today in this direction, preliminary data indicates that 328 Russian troops were neutralized, including 134 irreversibly. Five tanks, six armored combat vehicles, and eight vehicles were also destroyed. One tank, three armored combat vehicles, 11 artillery systems, and three vehicles were damaged," the General Staff noted.

In the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces made 19 attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses near Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Druhe, Heorhiivka, Dalne, Kostiantynivka, and Katerynivka. Fifteen engagements have been completed, and four are still ongoing.

"According to preliminary data, the enemy’s losses in this direction amounted to 52 dead and wounded. One armored combat vehicle and one vehicle were also destroyed," the report said.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian forces launched eight attacks on Ukrainian units near Vuhledar, Pavlivka, Katerynivka, and Vodiane. Ukrainian forces repelled half of the attacks, while four engagements are still ongoing.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian troops made three unsuccessful attempts to push Ukrainian forces from their positions. They suffered losses and retreated.

In the remaining directions, there are no significant changes.

Additionally, the Ukrainian General Staff commended the soldiers of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Otaman Kost Hordiienko, and the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Colonel-General Mark Bezruchka for their effective efforts in inflicting significant losses on the enemy in both personnel and equipment.
