Since the beginning of the day, as of 10 p.m. on September 20 (according to the Kyiv time zone), 190 combat engagements have occurred on the front. The most intense directions are Pokrovsk and Kurakhove, but there were nearly twice as many clashes on the latter as on the former, according to the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops carried out three attacks near Vovchansk throughout the day. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled two enemy assaults, while another engagement is still ongoing. According to preliminary information, Russia's losses since the beginning of the day amounted to 64 killed and wounded Russian troops, with one armored vehicle, three multiple rocket launch systems, 51 UAVs, and two vehicles destroyed. Additionally, one piece of specialized equipment, eight artillery systems, and two enemy vehicles were damaged.

Nineteen Russian attacks targeted Ukrainian positions in the Kupiansk direction, in the areas of Stepova Novoselivka, Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, Kruhliakivka, and Lozova. Three engagements are ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted to advance 18 times near Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Druzhelyubivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Terny, and Zarichne. Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 attacks, with one battle continuing near Druzhelyubivka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled an enemy attack near Vyimka.

With the support of assault aviation, Russian troops conducted six assaults in the Kramatorsk direction, targeting areas near Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, and Bila Hora. The situation remains under the control of Ukrainian Defense Forces units.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops, backed by bomber aircraft, launched nine attacks near Dachne and Toretsk. A battle is still ongoing on the outskirts of Shcherbynivka.

High-intensity combat continues in the Pokrovsk direction, with the number of clashes rising to 32. Russian forces maintain pressure on the defensive positions of Ukrainian troops near Zelene Pole, Marynivka, Krasnyi Yar, Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretske, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Chervone, Selydove, and Novohrodivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 30 enemy attacks, with two more engagements still underway. The fiercest fighting today occurred near Novohrodivka, with nine clashes recorded.

Preliminary Russian losses amounted to 264 killed and wounded Russian troops, with two prisoners added to the exchange pool. Additionally, one tank, five artillery systems, nine vehicles, one piece of specialized equipment, and ten units of motorized equipment were destroyed. Six vehicles and seven artillery systems were damaged.

In the Kurakhove direction, 52 combat engagements have been recorded by this time of day. Russian troops attempted to advance in the areas of Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Pershe, Heorhiivka, Dalne, Oleksandrivka, Katerynivka, and Kostiantynivka. Forty-four attacks were repelled, with eight more still ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, with air support, the enemy launched 12 assaults on the forward defense lines in the areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Bohoyavlenka. Two enemy attacks are still underway.

Today, in the Orikhiv direction, the enemy made six attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses near Mala Tokmachka, Lobkove, and Novodanilivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, three enemy attempts to capture Ukrainian positions were unsuccessful.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, on September 19, Ukrainian forces advanced slightly in the Pokrovsk direction, southeast of Marynivka (southeast of Pokrovsk and northeast of Selydove).
