Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 8

Over the past day, 183 combat clashes were recorded on the front line. In the Kurakhiv direction, the number of battles exceeded the level of Russian activity in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Yesterday, aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two command points and ten enemy personnel concentration areas.
In the Kharkiv direction, the aggressor continued active operations, with a total of three combat clashes occurring near the settlement of Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched 18 attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions. The invaders focused their efforts on the areas of Synkivka, Lozova, Stelmakhivka, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, and Andriivka.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 27 attacks by the occupiers near Cherneshchyna, Nevske, Lozova, Torsk, Makiivka, and Dibrova.
In the Severodonetsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight assault actions near Spirne, Verkhniokamianske, and Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, soldiers halted eight enemy attempts to breach the defense in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Andriivka, and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Toretsk direction, with aviation support, the enemy carried out ten attacks near the settlements of Toretsk, Nelipivka, and Sukha Balka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, defenders repelled 44 assault and offensive actions. The enemy concentrated their efforts in the areas of Novohrodivka, Mykhailivka, and Hrodivka, where they conducted more than half of the attacks. Additionally, attempts by the occupiers to advance were halted near Zelenopillia, Vozdvyzhenka, Novotroitske, Myroliubivka, and Selydove in the Donetsk regin.
In the Kurakhiv direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Krasnohorivka, Halytsynivka, Ukrainsk, and Heorhiivka, where the enemy made 47 attempts to breach our defenses.
In the Vremivka direction, the aggressor carried out seven assaults on our positions near Vodiane and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, defenders firmly stopped 11 attempts by the occupiers to advance along lines occupied by Ukrainian troops.
There were no changes in other directions.
As a reminder, over the past day, Ukrainian forces eliminated another 1,270 occupiers. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 625,000 soldiers.
Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russian troops have captured the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region and advanced in three other directions.
