Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 7

As of 22:00 on September 7, 168 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 44 of them took place in the Pokrovsk sector, where the enemy lost more than 240 troops.
Hostile attacks
Today, the enemy state launched one missile attack on the territory of Ukraine using one missile and 70 air strikes, dropping 90 guided bombs. In addition, the invaders used 581 kamikaze drones and fired over 3,100 times at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas using various types of weapons.
Situation at the frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, Russians stormed the positions of Ukrainian troops near Vovchansk with the support of aviation once.
“According to the information currently available, Ukrainian defenders in the Kharkiv sector eliminated and wounded more than 60 occupants, destroyed two tanks, four armored combat vehicles, 40 UAVs, and a car, and damaged an artillery system and four enemy vehicles,” the statement said.
The enemy attacked Ukrainian positions seventeen times in the Kupiansk direction. Near the settlements of Synkivka, Lozova, Stelmakhivka, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, and Andriivka, the Defense Forces repelled seven attacks. The situation is tense, ten firefights are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian defenders 25 times in the areas of Cherneshchyna, Nevske, Lozova, Torske, Makiivka, and Dibrova. Three firefights are currently ongoing.
The enemy's activity in the Siversk direction was manifested by seven assault actions, the attackers tried to force the Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Spirne, Verkhnekamianske, and Vyimka. One firefight continued.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled six attempts by the invaders to advance near Chasiv Yar, Andriivka, and Klishchiivka. All attacks were repelled.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian troops, supported by aviation, attacked Ukrainian positions eight times near Toretsk, Nelipivka, and Sukha Balka. Four battles are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian units 44 times during the day. The enemy was most active in the area of Novohrodivka, Mykhailivka, and Hrodivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 39 attacks, and five more combat engagements are ongoing.
“According to the available information, today the occupants lost more than 240 servicemen killed and wounded in this sector. The count is ongoing,” the General Staff noted.
The situation is also tense in the Kurakhove direction, where our defenders have repelled 42 enemy attacks so far this day. The invaders tried to advance near Kostiantynivka, Krasnohorivka, Halytsynivka and Heorhiivka. Seven firefights are ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, the aggressor stormed the frontline six times today in the direction of Vodiane and Vuhledar. Ukrainian troops stopped six enemy attacks, another attack is ongoing.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, 11 enemy assaults were unsuccessful. No positions were lost.
There were no significant changes in other areas.
In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine honored the soldiers of the Sicheslav 25th separate airborne brigade of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their effective combat work.
From September 6 to 7, Russia lost 1 270 of its soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 52 drones and 55 enemy vehicles.
