As of the evening of August 27, 125 combat engagements have occurred at the front since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian forces continue to resist the Russian troops, inflicting significant fire damage, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

According to the General Staff, today the enemy launched two strikes on Ukrainian territory, firing nine missiles and conducting 64 airstrikes, deploying 72 guided bombs. Additionally, 558 kamikaze drones were used for strikes. The Russians also carried out over 2,800 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.

Frontline situation

The information is up-to-date as of 10:00 p.m. (according to the Kyiv time zone).

In the Kharkiv direction, eight battles took place. Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russian advances near Vovchansk. The enemy's attack is still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, 16 clashes occurred throughout the day. The enemy attacked near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, and Stelmakhivka. Four enemy attacks are currently ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops conducted assault operations near Druzheliubivka, Nevske, and Novosadove. Seven battles have concluded, while two continue.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy advance near Verkhniokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 12 battles were fought near Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Andriivka, and Klishchiivka. Currently, one enemy assault is ongoing, with the situation under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In the Toretsk direction, 16 clashes took place. Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions near New York and Toretsk. Defense forces successfully repelled all enemy attacks.

In the Pokrovsk direction, 36 battles have been fought since the start of the day in areas including Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Myroliubivka, Novohrodivka, Mykhailivka, and Selydove. Ukrainian defenders repelled 30 offensive actions, with six more ongoing.

"Today, in this direction, 266 Russian troops were neutralized, 110 of whom were killed. A howitzer, a grenade launcher, three drones, and one piece of special equipment were also destroyed. Additionally, an infantry fighting vehicle, an armored combat vehicle, one artillery system, and four vehicles were damaged," the report states.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions 15 times near Karlivka, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Staromykhailivka. Ten clashes have concluded, with five still ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy made six unsuccessful attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their defensive positions near Vuhledar, Vodiane, and Prechystivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy also failed in four offensive actions near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.

In the Prydniprovsk direction, the enemy suffered defeat in two attempts to attack Ukrainian positions.

In other directions, the situation remains largely unchanged.

The General Staff also highlighted the soldiers of the 79th Separate Tavrian Air Assault Brigade, who are effectively destroying the enemy, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.

It should be noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue their operation in the Kursk region, initiated in August 2024.

According to a statement by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, as of August 27, Ukraine controls 100 settlements within Russia. Additionally, nearly 600 Russian military personnel are currently held captive.
