As of 10:00 PM on August 19, the frontlines have seen 154 combat engagements since the beginning of the day. Over a third of these occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the evening update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

On this day, the Russian troops conducted 71 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, dropping 86 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, the enemy deployed 629 kamikaze drones and carried out over 3,400 shellings targeting Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian defensive positions near Lyptsi and Vovchansk five times. Four of these attacks were repelled, and one is still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the adversary carried out 13 offensive and assault operations, with the most significant actions near Synkivka and Hlushkivka, totaling four and five attacks, respectively.

In the Lyman direction, throughout the day, the Russian troops targeted Ukrainian positions near seven different settlements. The most intense actions occurred near Makiivka and Nevske, with Ukrainian defenders repelling 11 attacks in total.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped eight enemy attacks in the areas of Ivano-Daryivka, Spirne, and Verkhnekamianske. Additionally, one ongoing engagement continues near the latter location.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the adversary conducted five offensive actions near Ivanivske and Andriivka. Ukrainian defense forces repelled all attempts by the enemy to advance.

In the Toretsk direction, Russians attacked Ukrainian forces 21 times in the areas of Toretsk, New York, Zalizne, Nelipivka, and Pivnichne. Sixteen clashes have ended, with five ongoing, four of which are near Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, 63 clashes have occurred since the start of the day. The enemy concentrated their efforts near the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Novohrodivka, and Mykhailivka, conducting nearly half of all attacks in these areas. Ukrainian defense forces have repelled 60 assaults, with three continuing.

"According to preliminary information, today in the Pokrovsk direction, 325 occupiers have been neutralized, with 133 of them confirmed as killed. Additionally, 13 vehicles, 12 UAVs of various types, five artillery pieces and mortars, and four armored fighting vehicles have been destroyed. Furthermore, our forces have significantly damaged two mortars and 14 units of enemy transportation," the report states.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy launched 11 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Nevelske and Kostiantynivka, suffering losses in the clashes.

In the Vremivka direction, the adversary carried out five assault actions, including towards Vodiane. All assaults were repelled.

In the Dnipro direction, one enemy attack was unsuccessful.

Additionally, the General Staff commended the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade "Sicheslav" from Dnipro for their steadfast defense and effective combat operations, demonstrating to the occupiers that they have no place in Ukraine.

Evacuation of residents in the Pokrovsk direction

According to the acting head of the Myrnohrad City Military Administration, Yurii Tretiak, residents of Myrnohrad in the Pokrovsk direction are urgently required to evacuate the city. They have only a few days left to leave.

The day before, Iryna Vereshchuk, the Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, also called on residents to evacuate due to worsening conditions in the Pokrovsk direction. This specifically applies to the inhabitants of Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Selydove.
