Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 31

Since the beginning of the day on July 31, 88 combat engagements took place in the frontline. The situation is the hottest in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Situation in the directions
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops attacked three times in the direction of Stepova Novoselivka, Kolesnykivka and Berestove.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked seven times near Makiivka, Novoserhiivka and Nevske. Six attacks were repelled, one is ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the Russian forces attacked twice near Verkhniokamianske and Ivano-Daryivka, where the battle is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked six times near Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske and Andriivka. Three more battles are ongoing.
The number of attacks in the Toretsk direction increased to 16. The enemy advanced near Zalizne, New York, Toretsk and Pivnichne. Three more battles are ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attacked in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zhelanne, Serhiivka, Panteleimonivka, Novooleksandrivka, Ivanivka, Lysychne, Tymofiivka, Karlivka and Kalynove. Ukrainian troops repelled 19 attacks, 17 more are ongoing.
In the Kurakhove direction, Russian troops attacked five times near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Zhelanne and Paraskoviivka. Two more battles are ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, the Russian army assaulted near Velyka Novosilka. The enemy was defeated in four combat engagements.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian forces were also unsuccessful, attacking the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the left bank of the Dnipro twice.
Russia's losses in the war
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has already lost about 578 thousand troops. Yesterday, according to the General Staff, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,060 soldiers. They also destroyed:
- 9 tanks;
- 20 armored combat vehicles;
- 30 artillery systems and more.
