Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 15

The situation on the Russia-Ukraine frontline is tense, but Ukrainian Forces are doing everything possible to prevent the Russian military from implementing its plans, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A total of 69 combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of this day.
Russian troops are active in the Siversk and Kupiansk directions.
Frontlines updates
The border areas of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions are under systematic fire from enemy artillery and MLRS. Several border settlements, such as Pokrovka, Popivka, Ugroidy, Luhivka, and Novomykolaivka, have suffered from enemy attacks. The enemy is also conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities.
The Kharkiv region is under constant fire from Russian aircraft. Russians have used 17 guided bombs today. They targeted the areas of Hlyboke, Lyptsi, Vesele, Vetarynarne, and Vovchansk.
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian soldiers attempted ten times to storm the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops in the areas of Hlyboke and Vovchansk. Six combat clashes are currently underway near Vovchansk. The situation is under the control of Ukrainian troops.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy twice attacked the positions of Ukrainian units near Stelmakhivka, and the fighting is still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold steadfastly the defense.
In the Lyman sector, the Russian army, supported by aviation, launched three attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makiivka and Terny. Two of the clashes ended without success for the enemy, and one is ongoing.
The enemy is also active in the Siversk sector. Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks near Rozdolivka, Bilohorivka, and Verkhnekamianske, and four more enemy attempts failed. The situation is under control.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russians made five assaults on Ukrainian troops' positions near Chasiv Yar and Hryhorivka. Two attacks are still ongoing. The enemy attacked Chasiv Yar with attack aircraft.
The number of enemy attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to nine. The Russian efforts are concentrated in the areas of Pivnichne and New York. Ukrainian troops repelled four enemy attacks, and five more combat clashes are ongoing.
The Russians are actively using aviation in this area - Pivnichne, Toretsk, and New York were bombed, the enemy dropped 12 guided bombs and used unguided aerial missiles.
The largest number of firefights took place in the Pokrovsk sector. Since the beginning of the day, the Russian military, supported by bomber and attack aircraft, has made 16 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Progres, Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka, and Yasnobrodivka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have so far repelled 13 enemy attacks, three attacks are still ongoing. The enemy's losses are being clarified.
Fighting continues near Krasnohorivka, Karlivka, and Paraskoviivka in the Kurakhove sector. According to the updated information, 10 attacks of the Russian army were repelled in this area today.
In the Vremivka sector, Ukrainian troops repelled four enemy attacks near Kostiantynivka, Vodiane, and Makarivka.
In the Orikhiv sector, the Russians made two unsuccessful attempts to attack Ukrainian units near Mala Tokmachka and in the direction of Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy continues to try to drive Ukrainian units from their positions. Two unsuccessful assaults were repelled by Ukrainian soldiers.
As of Monday morning, July 15, Russia has lost 560,290 military. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 62 artillery systems and 41 unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day.
