Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 8

Over the last day, July 7, 141 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. Russians attempted to attack the Pokrovsk sector more than 50 times, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Over the past day, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted 11 airstrikes on Russian forces, hit one control center, one air defense system, three areas of concentration of personnel and weapons of the Russian occupiers, one R-441 Liven communication station and one radar station Protivnik-GE," the General Staff writes.
Sectors
Russians continue their offensive in the Kharkiv sector. A total of five combat engagements took place in the vicinity of Lyptsi, Starytsia, Hlyboke, and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, 13 Russian attacks were repelled. Russia conducted assault operations near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, and Stelmakhivka.
In the Lyman sector, 16 Russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Nevske, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terny, and Serebryanske forestry.
3 Russian attacks near Verkhniokamianske were repelled in the Siversk sector.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 5 Russian attempts to break through the defense in the areas of Kalynivka, Hryhorivka, and Chasiv Yar were stopped.
In the Toretsk sector, the Russians launched 9 unsuccessful attacks near the towns of Pivnichne and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 52 Russian attacks were repelled in the vicinity of New York, Prohres, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove, Lozuvatske, Novoselivka Persha and Yasnobrodivka.
In the Kurakhove sector, Russians tried to break through the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 19 times near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostiantynivka.
In the Vremivka sector, 10 Russian attacks were repelled in the area of Vodiane, Kostiantynivka and Makarivka.
In the Orikhiv sector, 5 Russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russians attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 4 times;
"On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russia maintains a military presence, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine," the Ukraine's General Staff adds.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
Over the past day, July 7, Russian losses amounted to 1,200 manpower units. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost about 552,190 soldiers. Also, yesterday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed Russian 16 tanks, 40 armored combat vehicles, 29 artillery systems, and more.
