Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 10

In Ukraine, there have been 95 combat clashes on the front lines over the past day. The enemy continues to press on the Defense Forces in two directions in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Overall, the enemy launched 6 missiles and 80 aviation strikes and conducted 127 shelling attacks from reactive multiple rocket launch systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
During the night, the Russian army once again attacked Ukraine - 10 UAVs of the Shahed type were engaged. With the efforts and means of Ukraine's air defense, all strike UAVs were destroyed.
During the past day, populated areas were subjected to aviation strikes:
- Bilopillia, Kostiantynivka, Sadky in the Sumy region;
- Vesele, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khytory in the Kharkiv region;
- Lyman, Verkhniokamianske, Druzhba, Spirne, Kalynove, Umanske, Bohoiavlenka in the Donetsk region;
Over 120 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border.
In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled 13 attacks in the areas of the settlements Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region; and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks in the areas of the settlements Novosadove, and Torske in the Donetsk region; and the Serebrianse forestry area in the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 21 attacks in the areas of the settlements Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Novyi, Rozdolivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, defenders repelled 28 attacks in the areas of the settlements Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Novoselivka Persha, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the military continues to hold back the enemy near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Vodiane, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried 7 times to break through the defense of our troops.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 19 times in the area of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy persists in its intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the past day, they unsuccessfully attacked the positions of our troops twice.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces and missile units struck 1 radar station, 2 ammunition depots, 1 air defense system, and 17 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.
On the night of May 10, Russian forces once again launched groups of attack drones towards southern Ukraine.
Subsequently, explosions were heard in the area of the town of Snihurivka in the Mykolaiv region.
Also, during the night, the enemy shelled residential areas in Kharkiv.
