Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 4

In Ukraine, there have been 119 military clashes over the past day. During this period, the Ukrainian Defense Forces' aviation conducted strikes on 13 areas of enemy personnel concentration and 3 command posts, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Overall, the enemy launched 5 missile and 105 aviation strikes, conducted 91 shelling attacks from reactive multiple rocket launch systems on the positions of our troops and civilian areas.
Unfortunately, Russian attacks have resulted in civilian casualties.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions.
In the Kupiansk direction, our soldiers repelled 9 attacks in the areas of the settlements Petropavlivka, Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region; Andriivka and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 7 times in the areas of Makiivka, Nevskr, and Serebrianske Forestry in the Luhansk region, as well as near settlements Terny and Torske in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 27 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Novyi, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 34 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Arkhangelske, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Novopokrovske, Umanske, Netailove, and west of Semenivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continued to restrain the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka and Vodiane in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted 16 times to break through the defense of our troops.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 5 times near the settlements of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy is not giving up its intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the past day, the enemy conducted 11 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation conducted strikes on 13 areas of enemy personnel concentration and 3 command posts.
Units of the missile forces inflicted damage on 1 command post and 2 enemy artillery systems.
The Institute for the Study of War reported that during the battles on May 3, Russian forces advanced southeast of Kupiansk, as well as made slight advancements northwest of Avdiivka and southwest of Donetsk.
Russian armed forces attacked Ukraine during the night of May 4 with guided missiles S-300 and 13 Shaheds.
