Situation at frontlines
The operational situation remains unchanged in the Volyn and Polissia directions. No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas and conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. It carried out air strikes near the settlements of Vodolahy, Yamne in Sumy region; Vesele, Kharkiv, Vovchansk in Kharkiv region. In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 attacks in the areas of Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Kotlyarivka, Berestove, Kopanky in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Sinkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kotliarivka in Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Defense forces repelled 9 attacks carried out by the enemy in the areas of Hrekivka, Nevske, and Serebrianske forestry in the Luhansk region; Terny in the Donetsk region. Artillery and mortar shelling damaged more than 10 settlements, including Makiivka and Nevske in the Luhansk region; Terny and Yampolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 14 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, Novyi, Donetsk region, where the enemy was trying to improve its tactical position. The enemy launched an air strike near Dyliyivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Razdolivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 33 attacks near the settlements of Kalynove, Arkhanhelske, Progres, Ocheretyne, Sokil, Solovyovo, Novopokrovske, Semenivka, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove, Pervomaiske in Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. The enemy also launched an air strike near the settlements of Zhelanne in Donetsk region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Arkhanhelske, Novopokrovske, and Umanske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Defense forces continue to hold the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops 17 times. The enemy also conducted an air strike near the settlement of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders twice near Staromaiorske, Donetsk region, and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. It also carried out air strikes near the settlements of Staromaiorske, Donetsk region, and Lobkove, Zaporizhzhia region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Malynivka, Bilohirya, Robotyne, Shcherbaki in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy persists in its intent to dislodge Ukrainian units from bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the past day, they launched 5 unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions near the settlement of Krynky, Kherson region. It carried out air strikes in the areas of Olhivka, Tiahynka, Veletenske in the Kherson region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Mykolayivka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka in the Kherson region.
Russian losses
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck at 1 control point and 7 areas of concentration of enemy personnel.
Missile units struck 1 UAV control center and 1 area of concentration of enemy personnel.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that as of the morning of May 1, another 1120 Russian military were eliminated. Therefore, the total losses of the enemy army since the beginning of the large-scale invasion have reached about 469,840 soldiers.
