Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 26

The Ukrainian military repelled 26 Russian attacks in the Bakhmut direction, held positions and repelled the assaults of the Russian troops in the Kherson direction. Ukrainian aviation destroyed 3 Russian anti-aircraft missile systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
During the past day, 114 combat clashes took place. In total, Russia launched 4 missile and 75 air strikes, fired 66 times with rocket salvo fire systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.
The following were hit by Russian airstrikes:
- Sumy, Sumy region;
- Udy, Lyptsi, Male Vesele, Pletenivka, Okhrimivka, Vodiane, Borova, Kharkiv region;
- Mykolaivka, Chasiv Yar, Spirne, Dyliivka, Vyimka, Kalynove, Semenivka, Karlivka, Novohrodivka, Yevhenivka, Berdychi, Oleksandropil, Arkhanhelske, Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Urozhaine, Donetsk region;
- Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region;
- Kachkarivka, Ivanivka, Kherson region.
More than 110 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under Russian artillery fire.
Situation at fronts
On the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains without significant changes.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, Russia maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent Ukrainian troops from moving to dangerous directions, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled Russian 10 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Kyslivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, Russia carried out 20 attacks in the areas of Druzheliubivka settlements of the Kharkiv region; Makiivka, Serebrianske forestry, Luhansk region; Torske, Terny, Zarichne of the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut, direction Ukrainian soldiers repelled 26 Russian attacks in the areas of settlements of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Novyi, Mykolaivka, Vyimka, Spirne, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled over 30 Russian attacks in the areas of Ocheretyne, Umanske, Nevelske, Keramik, Berdychi, and Netailove settlements of the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back Russia in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, and Vodiane settlements of the Donetsk region, where Russia tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops 19 times.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russia attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 2 times in the Staromaiorske area of the Donetsk region and in the Robotyne area of the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, Russian troops do not give up its intention to knock out Ukrainian units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Yes, during the past day, they carried out 3 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops.
At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire line of battle.
Russia's losses
During the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 2 control points, 8 personnel concentration areas and 3 anti-aircraft missile complexes of the enemy.
Units of the Ukrainian missile forces damaged 1 control point and 1 area of concentration of Russian personnel.
The total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine is 462,980 troops.
