Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 29

Ukrainian defenders repelled 22 Russian attacks in the Novopavlivka direction. Ukrainian troops repelled 13 attacks in the Bakhmut direction. The aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 14 areas where Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Over the past day, 59 combat engagements took place.
In total, Russia launched 16 missile and 131 air strikes.
The Russians also fired 128 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Many high-rise buildings, medical facilities, cars, a school, a kindergarten, and other civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.
At night, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine once again, using Shahed UAVs and cruise missiles of various types. Data on this attack is being clarified.
Air strikes were carried out in:
- Bobylivka, Sumy region;
- Borova, Kupiansk, Kharkiv region;
- Nevske, Luhansk region;
- Terny, Yampolivka, Mykolaivka, Zalizne, Chasiv Yar, Andriivka, Dyliivka, Novobakhmutivka, Karlivka, Ocheretyno, Umanske, Berdychi, Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Antonivka, Staromayorske in Donetsk region;
- Komyshuvakha, Malynivka, Robotyne in Zaporizhzhya region.
About 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Situation at frontlines
The operational situation remains unchanged in the Volyn and Polissia direction.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske direction, Russia maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border.
Russians did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions in the Kupiansk direction.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 6 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Terny, Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 13 attacks near Chasiv Yar, Novyi, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian attacks near Semenivka, Donetsk region, where Russians tried to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russians in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka, and Urozhaine, where the Russians, supported by air power, tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops 22 times.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Russians attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 8 times in the areas of Robotyne, northwest of Verbove, and north of Pryiutne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive our units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, two attacks were made on the positions of Ukrainian troops.
At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian occupation forces, depleting Russians along the entire front line.

Over the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 14 areas of concentration of Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment.
Ukrainian missile troops struck 1 area of concentration of personnel, 4 control points, 4 air defense facilities, 2 artillery facilities, and 1 ammunition depot of the Russian occupiers.
