Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 27

In Ukraine, there have been 67 combat clashes on the front line over the past day. The enemy is attempting to attack the Ukrainian Armed Forces in three directions in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Overall, over the past day, the enemy has carried out 5 missile and 74 aviation strikes, as well as 152 shelling attacks from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population as a result of Russian terrorist attacks.
During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using 13 UAVs of the Shahed type. With the efforts and means of Ukraine's air defense, 10 UAVs were destroyed.
During the past day, populated areas Novoyehorivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, Vesele, Kurdiumivka, Chasiv Yar, Berdychi, Novopokrovka, Novomykhailivka, Mykilske, Karlivka, Umanske, Semenivka, Krasnohorivka, Oleksandrivka, Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region; Malynivka in the Zaporizhzhia region were subjected to aviation strikes.
Over 130 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled 1 enemy attack near the village of Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks in the areas of the villages of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, and north of Vesele in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, attempted to break through the defense of our troops.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 7 enemy attacks near the villages of Ivanivske, Bohdanivka, and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 9 enemy attacks in the areas of the villages of Berdychi, Semenivka, Nevelske, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, our troops continued to hold back the enemy in the areas of the villages of Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka, and Urozhaine, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted 26 times to break through the defense of our troops.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, attacked the positions of our defenders 7 times in the areas of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region; Robotyne, and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the Russians are not giving up their intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro. Over the past day, they made 3 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops in the area of the village of Krynky in the Kherson region.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation struck 2 command points and 8 areas where the enemy's personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated.
Missile troops units struck 1 air defense system, 1 artillery piece, and 1 ammunition depot of the enemy.
It should be noted that on March 26, there were 50 combat clashes on the front line.
According to ISW, the Russians are advancing near Bakhmut, and positional battles are taking place on most fronts.
