Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 19

In Ukraine, there were 61 combat clashes on the front line over the day. The enemy continues mass assaults on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Overall, the enemy launched 7 missile strikes and 70 aerial attacks and conducted 110 shelling with reactive multiple rocket launchers on the positions of our troops and settlements. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population as a result of Russian terrorist attacks.
During the past day, airstrikes hit the settlements of Velyka Pysarivka, Lukashivka, and Ponomarenky in the Sumy region; Rozdolivka, Semenivka, Oleksandrivka, Ocheretyne, Novobakhmutivka, Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Velyka Novosilka, Staromaiorske, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region; Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Approximately 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains largely unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out 3 unsuccessful assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces in the area of the settlement of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, defenders repelled 4 enemy attacks near the village of Terny in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to break through our troops' defense.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 7 enemy attacks in the areas of the villages of Ivanivske, Klischiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 9 enemy attacks near the villages of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, our military continues to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to break through our troops' defense 25 times.
In the Orikhiv direction, defenders repelled 9 attacks on our positions near the villages of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy continues its intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the past day, there were 3 assaults on our troops' positions.
Enemy losses
The Defense Forces aviation carried out strikes on 9 areas where enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated.
Units of the missile forces struck 1 enemy air defense system.
