Ukrainian military repelled 26 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka sector, holding their ground and thwarting Russian assaults in the Kherson sector. Rocket forces destroyed 2 enemy air defense systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
There have been 91 combat engagements over the past day. In total, the enemy launched 10 missile strikes and 84 airstrikes, along with 123 artillery barrages targeting Ukrainian troops' positions and civilian areas.
Unfortunately, there have been casualties among civilians due to Russian terrorist attacks.
Areas affected by airstrikes include:
- Soldatske, Kramchanka, Popivka, Luhivka, Velyka Pysarivka in the Sumy region;
- Muravske, Bolohivka, Odnorobivka, Kozacha Lopan, Kupiansk, Kivsharivka in the Kharkiv region;
- Serebryansky Forestry and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region;
- Serebrianka, Proletarske, Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Bohdanivka, Druzhba, Oleksandrivka, Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Umanske, Novomykhailivka, Urozhaine, Staromayorsk in the Donetsk region;
- Malynivka and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Over 110 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
The operational situation remains largely unchanged in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducting sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of Ukrainian troops to critical sectors, and increasing the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 enemy attacks near the settlements of Synkivka and Tabaiivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 7 enemy attacks near the settlements of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Terny in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled 7 enemy attacks in areas east of Chasiv Yar, Ivanivka, Andriivka, and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 26 enemy attacks near the settlements of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to breach Ukrainian defense 26 times.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions 12 times near Staromayorsk in the Donetsk region, west of Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy persists in its intention to dislodge Ukrainian units from bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the day, there were 3 unsuccessful attempts to storm Ukrainian troops' positions.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military continues active operations to inflict losses on the occupying forces in terms of personnel and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire frontline.
Enemy losses
Over the past day, the air force of the Defense Forces launched strikes on 9 areas of enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentrations.
Rocket units targeted 3 areas of enemy personnel concentrations, artillery positions, ammunition depots, and 2 enemy air defense systems.
The total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion has amounted to 426,870 military personnel.
