Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 7

Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, repelled Russian attacks near Nevelske (Donetsk region), and damaged enemy electronic warfare stations, according to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
During the day, there were 70 clashes. In total, the enemy inflicted 3 rocket and 43 aviation strikes, carried out 46 shelling attacks from reactive barrage systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Multistory and private houses, as well as other infrastructure objects, have been destroyed and damaged.
Situation on the fronts
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged. There are no signs of the formation of offensive groupings.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the populated areas of Zhabeliivka in the Sumy region and Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.
Approximately 30 populated areas were shelled by enemy artillery and mortars, including Buchky, Hasychiivka in the Chernihiv region; Stara Huta, Hrabovske, Popivka in the Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk, Krasne, Neskuchne in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders twice in the area of the populated area of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the populated areas of Ivanivka and Stepova Novoselivka in the Kharkiv region.
More than 10 populated areas, including Holubivka, Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kotliarivka in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, our troops repelled 7 enemy attacks in the areas of the populated areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Terny, Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to break through the defense of our troops.
Approximately 20 populated areas suffered from artillery and mortar shelling, including Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Terny, Yampolivka, Torke, Serebrianka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled 5 enemy attacks in the areas of the populated areas of Andriivka and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, attempted to improve its tactical position. The enemy also carried out airstrikes in the areas of populated areas of Hryhorivka, Toretsk and Druzhba in the Donetsk region.
More than 10 populated areas, including Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 20 enemy attacks in the areas of the populated areas of Berdychi, Tonenke, Orlivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske in the Donetsk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the populated areas of Novobakhmutivka, Ocheretyne, and Umanske in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 20 populated areas suffered from artillery and mortar shelling, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Semenivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, attempted to break through the defense of our troops 19 times. The enemy also carried out airstrikes in the areas of the populated areas of Kostiantynivka and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region.
More than 20 populated areas, including Krasnogorivka, Heorgiivka, Paraskoviivka, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Orihiv direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions. Approximately 20 populated areas, including Poltavka, Malinivka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Novodanylivka, and Piatykhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region, suffered from artillery and mortar shelling.
In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, more than 20 populated areas, including the city of Kherson, Tyahinka, Ivanivka, Krynyky, Novotiahynka in Kherson region, came under artillery and mortar fire. The enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of Mykolaivka in the Kherson region.
Situation on the left bank of the Dnipro
The enemy does not abandon the intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro.
Thus, during the day, the enemy carried out 1 unsuccessful assault operation.
Enemy losses
During the day, the defense aviation struck in 11 areas where the enemy personnel were concentrated.
Missile troops units inflicted damage on 1 area of concentration of personnel, 2 air defense assets, 1 radio-electronic warfare station, and 1 enemy fuel and lubricant depot.
The total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion amounts to 421,430 military personnel.
