Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 24

In Ukraine, there were 84 combat clashes on the front line during the day. The enemy is most active in the Maryinka direction in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
During the past day, there have been 84 combat clashes. In total, the enemy launched 10 missile strikes and 93 airstrikes and conducted 141 shelling attacks from rocket artillery systems on the positions of our troops and civilian areas.
During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine using 12 Shahed-type UAVs. All 12 kamikaze drones were destroyed by air defense units.
Airstrikes hit the towns of Novoehorivka, Makiivka, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Torske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Bila Hora, Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka, New York, Novobakhmutivka, Orlivka, Tonenke, Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane in the Donetsk region, and Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
More than 110 towns in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were shelled by artillery fire from Russian occupiers.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made two unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our defenders near Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled two enemy attacks in the area of the settlement of Terny in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 9 enemy attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 9 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Lastochkyne, Sieverne, and Pervomaiske.
In the Maryinka direction, the defenders continued to hold back the enemy in the areas of Hеorhiivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka, where the enemy attempted to break through our troops' defense 44 times.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy did not engage in offensive (assault) actions.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the defenders repelled 8 enemy attacks near Robotyne.
In the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue to expand the bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the enemy continues to attempt to dislodge our units from their positions. During the past day, the enemy made 8 unsuccessful assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the defense forces' aviation struck 6 areas of personnel concentration and 3 enemy air defense missile systems.
Also, Air Force units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed another A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft.
Our missile troops also targeted 4 areas of personnel concentration, a command post, 3 artillery pieces, an ammunition depot, and 2 Buk-M3 SAM systems of the enemy.
