Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 22

Russian attacks

During the past 24 hours, there were 64 combat clashes. In total, the enemy delivered 4 missile and 113 aerial strikes, along with 105 shelling incidents from multiple-launch rocket systems targeting the positions of our troops and civilian settlements.

Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and fatalities among the civilian population. Multi-story and private houses, as well as other objects of civilian infrastructure, have suffered destruction and damage.

Airstrikes occurred in the following locations:

- The Kharkiv region: Milove, Vilkhuvatka, Hryhorivka, Kolodyazne, Mytrofanivka, Petropavlivka.

- The Luhansk region: Makiivka, Bilohorivka.

- The Donetsk region: Lyman, Sviato-Pokrovske, Siversk, New York, Bila Hora, Dyliivka, Novopokrovske, Novobakhmutivka, Zhelanne, Stepove, Semenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Orlivka, Lastochkyne, Tonenke, Krasnohorivka, Katerynivka, Antonivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka, Urozhaine, Staromayorske.

- The Zaporizhzhia region: Robotyne, Novoandriivka, Orikhiv.

- The Kherson region: Krynky and Chornobaivka.

Over 120 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under enemy artillery fire.

Situation at the frontlines

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, actively conducts sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made three attempts to advance in the areas of the settlements of Synkivka and Tabaiivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the adversary attacked our units six times in the areas of the settlements of Terny and Vyiimka in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the defensive forces repelled two attacks by Russian occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Klyshchiivka and Maiorsk in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 19 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Stepove, Lastochkyne, Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske.

In the Maryinka direction, the defensive forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of Hеorhiivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy made 14 attempts to break through the defense of our troops.

In the Novopavlivka direction, our defenders repelled an enemy attack south of Zolota Nyva in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 8 enemy attacks west of Verbovе and in the area of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold positions and repel assaults by Russian occupation forces. Despite significant losses, the enemy continues attempts to dislodge our units from their positions.

During the past day, the adversary made 4 attempts to storm the positions of our forces on the right bank of the Dnipro.

At the same time, our soldiers continue active actions inflicting losses in personnel and equipment on the occupation forces along the entire front line.

Enemy losses

During the past day, the Defense Forces aviation conducted strikes on 10 concentrations of personnel and 2 anti-aircraft missile complexes of the enemy. Additionally, by the efforts and means of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a Su-34 fighter-bomber and 3 reconnaissance UAVs were destroyed.

Rocket troops units targeted 5 concentrations of personnel, armament, and military equipment, 2 ammunition depots, 3 command posts, 8 artillery systems, and 1 enemy radar station.

It should be noted that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 406,080 military personnel.
