Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 12

In Ukraine, on the front line, there were 100 combat engagements over the day. The enemy shelled with artillery over 130 settlements in nine regions of the country, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Overall, the enemy conducted 4 missile and 110 aviation strikes, as well as 95 shelling attacks from multiple rocket launcher systems on our troops' positions and civilian areas. Unfortunately, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Multi-story and private houses, as well as other civilian infrastructure, have suffered destruction and damage.
During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using 17 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. Fourteen of these strike UAVs were destroyed by Air Defense Forces.
The following settlements experienced aviation strikes: Klishchiivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Antonivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Rivnopil in Donetsk region; Robotyne, Novodarivka, Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia region; Kachkarivka, Monastyrske, Krynyky in Kherson region.
Over 130 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains largely unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our troops to threatened directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, defenders repelled 2 enemy attacks near Ivanivka and Tabaivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks in the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our troops repelled 19 enemy attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka, Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, which persists in its attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our troops maintain a strong defense, inflicting significant losses on the aggressors. During the past day, the Defense Forces repelled 23 enemy attacks in the area of Avdiivka and another 18 attacks south of Tonenke and near Pervomaiske and Nevelske, Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, defenders continue to hold back the enemy near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 32 attacks were repelled.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack north of Pryiutne, Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack in the area of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue efforts to expand the foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy persists in its attempts to dislodge our units from their positions. During the past day, the enemy conducted 1 unsuccessful assault action.
Enemy losses
Ukrainian Air Defense Forces have destroyed one guided aviation missile Kh-59.
Missile troops units targeted two personnel concentration areas, two command posts, one artillery piece, and two enemy ammunition depots.
