Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 4

In Ukraine, there were 66 combat clashes on the front line over the past day. The enemy is actively storming settlements to the north and south of Avdiivka and in the Maryinka direction in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
In total, the enemy carried out 2 missiles and 65 aviation strikes, conducting 53 shelling attacks with reactive volley fire systems on the positions of our forces and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are civilian casualties as a result of Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction.
Aviation strikes targeted: Budarky, Kolodyzne, Hryhorivka, Kupiansk, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Tabaiivka, Pishchane in the Kharkiv region; Terni, Oleksandrivka, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Staromykhailivka, Urozhaine in the Donetsk region; Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; Chervonyi Maiak, Krynky, Zmiivka in the Kherson region.
Over 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains largely unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains military presence in border areas, actively engages in sabotage activities to prevent the relocation of our forces to critical directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Defense Forces repelled 8 enemy attacks in the areas of Serebrianske Forestry Area, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Terniv and Yampolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 3 enemy attacks near Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy, preventing attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our forces steadfastly hold the defense, inflicting significant losses on the aggressors. In the past day, Defense Forces repelled 27 enemy attacks near Novokalynove and Avdiivka, and another 3 attacks near Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, defenders continued to restrain the enemy near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 7 attacks were repelled.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, Defense Forces repelled 3 attacks south of Zolota Niva in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our military repelled an enemy attack near Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, defenders continue efforts to expand the foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy persists in attempting to dislodge our units from occupied positions. In the past day, the enemy carried out 5 unsuccessful assault actions.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation struck 12 areas with a concentration of enemy personnel.
Using the capabilities of the Ukrainian air defense, one guided missile X-59, 10 strike UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type, and 3 reconnaissance UAVs of the enemy were destroyed.
Missile troops conducted strikes on 1 area with the concentration of enemy personnel and 1 artillery weapon.
