Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 1

Russian shelling

Over the past day, 66 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy launched 8 missile and 94 air strikes, and fired 97 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas.

Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties. Residential private and apartment buildings, educational institutions, and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Russian troops carried out air strikes at:

• Ulytsa, Seredyna Buda, Sumy region;
• Velykyi Burluk, Kolodiazne, Kyslivka, Synkivka in Kharkiv region;
• Nadiia, Serebrianske forestry, Bilohorivka, Luhansk region;
• Terny, Chasiv Yar, New York, Ocheretyno, Oleksandropil, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Urozhaine, Staromaiorske in Donetsk region;
• Bilohiria, Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region;
• Krynky, Beryslav, Novoberyslav, Sablukivka, Kachkarivka, Mylove, Chervonyi Maiak, Shlyakhove in Kherson region;

Over 140 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Frontlines situation

The operational situation remains unchanged in the Volyn and Polissia directions;

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 6 enemy attacks near Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 9 enemy attacks near Terny, Yampolivka, and Torske in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 occupants' attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russian invaders.

Over the past day, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 12 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Avdiivka and another 7 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian troops continue to hold back the enemy near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where they repelled 10 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack south of Zolota Nyva in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 8 enemy attacks north of Pryiutne, west of Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhya region.

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions and repel the attacks of the Russian occupation forces. Despite significant losses, the enemy continues to try to drive our units from their positions. Thus, over the past day, the enemy made three attempts to assault. None of them were successful.

Russian losses

Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 15 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment and 2 enemy anti-aircraft missile systems. Ukrainian Air Defense forces also destroyed one Kh-59 guided missile.

The missile troops struck 5 artillery units, 1 ammunition depot, and 4 enemy air defense systems.

The total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion is 385,230.
