Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 27

In Ukraine, there were 98 combat incidents on the front line within a day. The enemy intensified attacks on the Kupiansk direction and targeted a series of cities in the Donetsk and Kherson regions with missile fire, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Overall, the adversary launched eight missile strikes, using guided anti-aircraft missiles (S-300) targeting civilian infrastructure in Myrnohrad, Novohradivka in the Donetsk region, and Antonivka in the Kherson region. Additionally, there were four aerial attacks and 78 rocket barrages from reactive volley fire systems targeting our military positions and residential areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Multi-story and private houses, schools, kindergartens, a shopping center, and other civilian infrastructure have suffered destruction and damage.
In the morning, Russian occupiers launched a ballistic missile Iskander targeting the civilian infrastructure of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region.
Over 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains military presence in border areas, actively engages in sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our forces to critical directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks near Tabaivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, Defense Forces repelled 8 attacks by occupiers near Terniv and Torske in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our forces repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of settlements Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy, preventing attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our forces hold the defense steadfastly, inflicting significant losses on the aggressors. Over the past day, Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks by invaders near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and another 9 attacks in the areas of Opytne, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, defenders continued to restrain the enemy near Hеorhiivka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 14 attacks were repelled.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, our defenders repelled an attack by occupiers near Zolota Niva in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks north of Pryiutne, south of Chervone, west of Verbove, and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, Defense Forces continue measures to expand the foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy persists in attempting to dislodge our units from their positions. Over the past day, the adversary launched 4 unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian military positions.
