Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 10

Ukrainian forces continue operations to expand their foothold in the Kherson region and deter the enemy in the Donetsk region. Over the past day, there have been 77 military clashes, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
The enemy carried out 5 missile and 52 aviation strikes (using 3 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, of which 1 was destroyed) and conducted 53 shelling attacks from reactive multiple-launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential private and multi-apartment buildings, the territory, and premises of a children's recreation center, as well as other civilian infrastructure, have suffered destruction and damage.
Aerial strikes were inflicted in Vesele, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Tabaivka, Pishchane, Berestove in the Kharkiv region; Serebrianske Forestry in the Luhansk region; Nove, New York, Oleksandrivka, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 120 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
Situation at the frontlines
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, actively engages in sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to critical directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the Operational and strategic grouping of troops Khortytsia in the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka, the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, our defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks east of Terniv and Vesele in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 3 enemy attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the area of responsibility of the Operational and strategic grouping of troops Tavria in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy, who persistently attempts to encircle Avdiivka.
Our soldiers hold the defense steadfastly, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. During the past day, the Defense Forces repelled 11 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Severne, and another 13 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of Hryhorivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 15 attacks were repelled.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, our defenders repelled an enemy attack near Staromayorske in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 2 enemy attacks west of Verbovе in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the area of responsibility of the Operational and strategic grouping of troops Odesa in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue their efforts to expand the foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy persists in attempting to dislodge our units from their positions. During the past day, the enemy launched 9 unsuccessful assault actions against the positions of the Defense Forces.
Enemy losses
At the same time, our soldiers continue actively engaging and inflicting losses on the occupying forces in terms of personnel and equipment, wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
During the past day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces conducted strikes on 9 areas of enemy personnel concentration.
Units of missile forces targeted the area of enemy personnel, weapons, military equipment concentration, and 2 artillery pieces of the enemy.
